The screw to one of the battery compartments is a nightmare to unscrew (the other one works fine) and there is some soldier or glue or something on the battery connector so the cab batteries won’t work. How awful is that! We are trying to get the substance off so we can get the batteries to connect, but really not the best start to the day...!

I've not got batteries for mine yet so haven't opened the battery compartments yet.

Be careful as if you need to return anything to LOL you have to send everything back. Every little accessory that comes with it.

I hope you fix it.

There are parts missing in ours triggering disappoint and a huge meltdown. It is very flimsy and I'm really disapointed with it. Worst £100 ever spent.

Ratbagcatbag · 25/12/2019 11:40

Oh no. What's missing?
I thought I had a couple of bits missing to start with but then found them.

LazyDaisey · 26/12/2019 07:24

Neither of our battery compartments will open - screws are completely stripped. Called amazon and they confirmed we don’t need to return in original packaging.

I very much doubt they will be going through and checking each accessory is present. Don’t they usually just weigh returned items and not even open them?

No problems with ours thank god but DD got the house as well and that’s come with 2 dolls and no pet so we had tears yesterday from her saying Santa and messed her present up. Thankfully have managed to sort a replacement so can tell her the elves are sending the pet once it’s on the way

I would try returning to the shop first and try to get a replacement there and then as returning directly to mga is a nightmare

I had exactly the same problem with ours well one of the compartments I ended up digging it out and then taping it back up I thought I had the wrong screw driver but it worked for the other one I almost lost the plot in the meantime mind ! Had to drink a lot of gin to compensate

sideorderofchips · 26/12/2019 20:46

There's. A thing going around fb about it and trapped fingers underneath

LazyDaisey · 27/12/2019 08:30

I’ve seen that - it’s the tab mechanism that connects the two parts and some parents are calling it a hole. It’s not a hole and I don’t know even know how the kids did it - hard to push down the plastic tab enough to stick a finger in. Of course American are throwing around suing and “compensation” like it was candy canes Hmm

MakeUpGirl · 27/12/2019 13:05

Have to agree LazyDaisey. I’m quite sceptical of all these pictures and parents complaining.
I had a good look at DDs and the button is quite hard to push in so don’t see how children could push it in far enough to get their finger stuck. Also thought the hole was quite big on ours so wondering if the design is slightly different on the American one or maybe later models have been modified

LazyDaisey · 27/12/2019 16:12

I read somewhere that calling out an ambulance averages to $6,000 a call out in the US, so I can see how some are looking at compensation for “injuries” and of course there’s no limit to suing for the supposed trauma endured and the counselling the child will need... Christ alive
