Anyone else get absolutely zero for Xmas this year?

I have a 2.5 year old not even a card from him and daddy no presents nothing

I know it's not about me but even a hand made card would mean so much

I haven’t got a present this year either, tbh I did say not to buy me anything as their isn’t anything I need.

Hopefully if your DH knows your upset, he will be more prepared next time, just don’t let it spoil your day OP.

No I have gifts but I’d gladly trade them for a husband who isn’t currently sat with a face like a slapped arse because he has a cold ! I’m doing a 100 mile round trip for lunch today and at the moment I might just leave him to stew in his misery

I might be dramatic but I would leave a man who thought this was acceptable. Not even a card. I'm aware that material things aren't everything, but he really doesn't value you at all. I'm sorry and I hope you manage to have a good day despite the arsehole you're with x

Yes, I am married to a Scrooge! But to balance it out, I am Mrs Scrooge and I haven't got him anything either!
We stopped buying each other pointless gifts about 20 years ago are both very happy with that! Merry Christmas!

That's really shifty of him. Have you given him his gift? If not maybe return it and treat yourself to something.

I buy my own. I’d love to say it helps but it really doesn’t. I feel really miserable this year and the complete lack of thought. I bought my husband lots of well thought out gifts he seemed to enjoy but the only things I had to open were the bits I got myself. It’s the same every year despite him apologising each year and saying he will do better next time. He does the same with birthdays too :(

I don’t have any family either so no one else around to spoil me either 🙄 feeling pretty down right now tbh

My DH isn't Mr Romance, but he always gets me books he knows that I will live and a few inexpensive surprises. Your DH is either very lazy it doesn't care, you need to work out fast which bit is.

A couple of my books were second hand btw; I'm really not talking about expensive items.

Did you buy for him, and for him from the kids? Did you talk about Christmas gifts?

I only ask because DH and I decided a long time ago not to bother with gifts. It’s a busy and stressful enough time as it is without having to think of stuff that we don’t even need to get each other. We’ve kind of already decided on something we want to do together in the new year so that’s where the money will go.

If however, he’s seen you make the effort in buying gifts on behalf of the kids, buying for him from you and has made no effort whatsoever I’d be pretty pissed off.

More pissed off our son got nothing apart from his auntie. He’s only 7months but that’s not the point

Mine got me nothing until Christmas Eve when we went on a walk, walked past a shop I liked and I pointed at something in the window I’d been eyeing up for a while and asked him to buy it.

To be fair to him, there wasn’t much I wanted and he knew I wouldn’t be terribly upset if there was nothing on Christmas Day. He’d bought the rest of his family gifts.

Me and DH stopped buying each other gifts when we had children. I like it that waste. Less waste.
