Heading to the supermarket tomorrow to buy food to graze on over the coming days. Already sorted for cheese - inspire me with this year's other must haves for the cupboard or fridge (actual meals are sorted - looking for the stuff in between - or instead of, if I get too lazy)

The truffle honey!

Goes with the cheese board but I could inhale it out the jar.

FurryDogMother · 22/12/2019 16:21

Waitrose salted pecans, also black garlic with tomatoes, and pickled walnuts with mashed potato, cold turkey and ham on St Stephen's Day.

All the nuts:

Salted, dry roasted, honey roast and barbecue cruspies from Lidl
Salt and vinegar coated peanuts from Waitrose
Fresh chestnuts to roast
Bag of mixed nuts in shells to crack.

We all love nuts. DS is four this year and fairly strong and dexterous so I think he might be able to crack the hazelnuts this year. I remember learning at the same age and eating all of them as will as accidentally firing walnuts everywhere from the nutcrackers as they were too hard for me!

The sausage meat, apricot and chestnut stuffing (home made) - cold. Quite happily have just that, in fact, forget the rest. It’s not something that we have at any other time of the year so it is something to look forward to

The oven ready cheese fondue thing from Aldi. We have two, I like cider and he likes chilli. We'll have it with crusty rolls.

Pibs are a favourite, as are roasties.

I've added florentines to my list

AgeLikeWine · 22/12/2019 18:15

Pork pie with mustard.

I love it, but it’s so ridiculously unhealthy that I only buy it at Christmas.

puppymouse · 22/12/2019 18:34

Our Xmas shop arrived today. After Eights, Jaffa Cakes and peanuts are screaming at me from the kitchen. And the pork pies...
