So my massive (very expensive) fridge freezer is irreparable, and the insurance cover won't replace it until after Christmas.

I have a large family. We have plans for lots of meaty, cheesy and creamy feasts. Cold champagne. Baileys with ice. Trifle. (Actually that's the only one I really care about). My kitchen is warm. Milk is currently going off in a day. (underfloor heating).

I am at a loss to know what to do?! What can I eat in the house? What can I eat out of the house?

Crisps, chocolates and red wine is one option I suppose...

Look for someone who fixes appliances!

She says it is irreparable.

Jus get a really cheap 2nd hand one off ebay. I've done that before. It will be perfectly serviceable until your main one is replaced.

Store it outside in a box, or get a cheap one to tide you over.

Definitely check on FB, £20 for a second hand one for the festive period. You could gift it to a family in need afterwards

Thanks all.

I have had a busy day of office parties and nativity play and just got home. Hadn't thought about rental, so will look into this. I don't have a shed, but maybe could use a storage box outside for a day or 2.

I hadn't thought about renting a fridge - I'll look into that.

I'm working solidly until Christmas and have very little time. Gah! Didn't need this really.
