What might I like for Christmas that will be really easy for my dad to get?

Needs to be easy to buy online as he's not got transport & is elderly. Usually I'd ask for a book, but I've got a good pile at the moment plus I've just been given a £30 book token. I don't do smellies or make-up & clothes are tricky.

(Neither of us are really big on presents, but we recently lost my mum & I know he'd like to get me something. DD can act as intermediary but also not old enough to drive!)

What do you enjoy doing?

Sadik · 17/12/2019 20:48

Reading, hanging out with friends, outdoorsy stuff. I'm quite boring!

Christmas hamper?
Films/box set?
Board game?

Nanasueathome · 17/12/2019 20:49

And what sort of budget?

Sadik · 17/12/2019 20:50

Hmm, maybe he'd like to get me a new cycling jacket. Should be easy from Wiggle or somewhere

Unhelpfully there are things I'd like, but they're all either awkward to get or I know will remind him of mum & make him sad(der) :(

Cyclewear sounds good, or cycling or outdoorsy accessory of some kind?

My local asda gets deliveries from a load of retailers, eg decathalon.

Anything you need for the house/work/daily life? Eg I love my non leak commuter mug/flask and posh lunch bag! Posh china mugs. Nice notebooks/diary.

Food hamper.
Wine/Baileys/Gin.
Alexa.
Bird box.

Loopytiles · 17/12/2019 20:58

Sorry about your mum. He’ll feel sad anyway, so if there’s something you like and would be reasonable for him to organise wouldn’t rule those things out.

Sadik · 17/12/2019 20:58

But - I've just been struck by inspiration. I've got a couple of pictures I'd love to have framed, and dad has a friend who is a framer :)

Wellies.
Something for the garden.
Kitchen gadget (coffee grinder, pestle and mortar, electronic scale, camembert baker, or many other things.
Alexa - or smart plugs that can be controlled by Alexa if you already have one.

SuntanC · 17/12/2019 21:23

So sorry about your mum. Would it be a possibility for your Dad to get something you could do together like a meal out or something like that?

HollowTalk · 18/12/2019 23:05

Have you got a Kindle? The frames sound really good, though.

Surreyblah · 19/12/2019 07:50

That sounds good!
