Present from DD to DH?

Struggling for a present for DD to give to DH.

He is always so thoughtful and generous with his gifts from DD to me (she is tiny so really it’s just us getting each other another present!)

I have thought about:

  • a digital photo frame - but are these almost retro now? There are some good and expensive ones but my budget is only about £50
  • adopt an orangutan (his favourite animal) at a zoo so we can go on a family trip - we’ve not taken DD to a zoo yet.
  • cufflinks and a cufflinks box - think I am cutting a bit fine to get some personalised cufflinks but I could get something that is nice in this time.

Are these all sh*t ideas? I feel really bad like I am not very good at being thoughtful.

The orangutan is a lovely idea. I’d pinch that if we had a zoo nearby!

Yes, I like the orangutan idea. This year I did a photo desk calendar from the youngest to DH. He requested it though so that was easy. Last year for his birthday I got him a book I thought he'd like to read to LO.

Thank you! I am so bad at presents, usually I just throw money at the situation but I don’t have any anymore Crown Grin

Not sure whether it's his thing but my daughter is 4 months and has "got" her dad a years subscription to Private Eye magazine- was around £30 !

I'd do a bauble or similar with hand/foot print if she's a baby. Until they could talk we didn't do presents from the children, just signed their names on each other's - we did did drawings/pottery/framed photo. Now they're older (4 and 6) I ask them what they'd like to get Daddy. This year he has a tea towel, sport socks and something secret the 6 year old made and wrapped up but they genuinely chose them all and paid (with the £5 note I gave them!).

I think your idea of photo frame pre loaded is a great idea.

Orangutan is awesome.
Could you go with this theme and get palm free/ orange coloured goodies? Subscription to National Geopgraphic?
Planet Earth DVD or jigsaw?
Toy orangutan or orangutan jigsaw?!
Jungle book on DVD?

It might be a bit late it arrive in time but what about a photo book with your favourite digital photos of DD, DH and yourself.

OrangeLola · 17/12/2019 06:28
