We need to buy presents for my in-laws. Usually they get tickets to something, and we'd bought by Diana Ross tickets, but they'd also bought their own Hmm so we've managed to sell ours on and we're back to square one.

They like old music but see a lot of it. We got them an afternoon tea and a theatre show last year, which they seemed to enjoy. They got themselves a few nights in a hotel through an experience box and didn't seem to enjoy it really. They spend most weeks at national trust sites, but have all the memberships... Whiskey and food have played a big part in previous years, but both have health conditions and don't eat or drink much anymore.

Any ideas? What would you love your adult kids to get you - maybe I can get some inspiration from that Grin

What about a donation to charity? If they like national trust you could donate to that. Or they do a range of national trust gifts.
Or a voucher for somewhere you know they buy clothes from.
My parents don’t want me to buy them anything. Im making them some Xmas biscuits with the kids.

I have adult kids and grandkids. I always say to mine, "give me something the kids have made, or photos of them". I don't want or need anything else and I'm always happy to get sweet little child-made gifts , or good photos of them .

A cashmere scarf and good leather gloves. For each of us.

I have adult children and an early 50s , I would like a calendar with photos of my dog ( always get that) , some nice bath stuff / soap ( L’Occitane mainly) , a Dora sheep draught excluder ( I’ve dropped hints ) and vouchers for the riding school I ride at - I doubt any of that inspires you . I’ve bought my dsis a Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser thing , they seem quite popular as gifts .

My birthday is Christmas Day so as a joint birthday and Christmas gift my adult dcs buy tickets for a show or a concert and I go out with them individually because what I really enjoy is spending time with them. We usually arrange it for early spring so that it's something to look forward to rather than at Christmas though.

I have already ordered my presents from my DC (because I'm good like that Xmas Grin )

DS (20) - silver ring and a jumper (M&S and I had a 20% off code , so I saved him money)

DD(17) fountain pen ..........then I saw a handbag I'd been stalking , reduced , in the colour I wanted and an extra 15% off...so I ordered it .

I have saved them the legwork (and I won't get a Soap&Glory MegaBox)

Book some sort of outing or experience you think they would like and then (most importantly) go with them!
The time our grown up kids spend with us is the thing we most value.
