Please help. My 21 year old is coming to stay for Christmas, which is great but I wasn't expecting him. I have bought him main presents (both experiences) but I don't have anything for him to open on Christmas day. He has a good job so doesn't want for anything. Any ideas?

Things to eat/drink whilst with you - cheese / beer / nuts / whatever he likes

Socks!

Make a stocking.
Chocolate orange, toblerone, bottle of craft beer and bottle opener or an alcohol miniature, deodorant, shower gel, hair stuff [whatever he uses] Nando's hot sauce, scratch card, wrist wallet or ice towel for gym, car air freshener, screen wipes etc
It doesn't matter if he's got a good job or not he''ll love that you've thought about things he would like even if he could buy them a hundred times over himself. My lot all have a stocking bank manager, assistant head and doctor amongst them. They love their stockings and when I tried to stop them since, like you, I knew they could afford to buy whatever they wanted they were horrified and begged me to carry on. Apparently, it's the best part of Christmas as it makes them feel really special that I've taken the time to think of things they would like and each stocking is completely different. [5 girls and a boy.]

Alternatively make a themed hamper for one of his interests. For example I've made DH a hamper containing a bird book, bird feeders, nesting box, nesting box camera, different foods, etc. [He likes garden birds]

Mine has a David Beckham toiletry set a bottle of vodka and a large selection box. Socks chocolates and silly stuff.
Nothing massive. I can't afford the big things he likes but he can himself. So we make it all about the day. Stocking dinner games and drinks together before he goes back.
