A young married couple in my family. He works full time and mainly plays PC games the rest of the time, she is at home as has health/mobility issues. He eats nearly everything, she has a restricted diet and is trying to keep healthy, plus she doesn't drink.
She is like crafting but has loads of the stuff she needs already and I wouldn't know where to start.
They have a dog which they adore and buy loads of things for.

I've already bought them a kind of crafty kit thing to do together but I need something else a bit more interesting! He has just asked for vouchers but i'd prefer to get something better. A joint present would be nice or something re the dog??! help!

In the past the family has usually clubbed together to buy something they have asked for specifically.

I have bought my DD a book called Where's (dog's name)? based on the Where's Wally? children's books. I think it's quite fun! Can't remember the name of the company who make them - someone on here told me, I think I started a thread about it - but they also had lots of other personalised pet gifts.
Theatre/cinema tickets, if the lady could get there.
Bird table/bird bath/hedgehog house.
Fruit tree for the garden.

Depending on budget - a portrait of DDog? Lots of artists will do it from photos. I guess it would have to be a voucher for it at this stage though.

Or photo of DDog on some cushions or something like that.

Photo shoot for dog? Cookbook of healthy living?

Board game? There's some really fun newer ones on the market.

INeedNewShoes · 14/12/2019 01:09

I'd go with a board game too.

Buy these Shot2go Pack of 4 Christmas Photo Baubles/Ornaments/Decorations. Each holds 2 x 65mm photos - use the template included to trim around your own photo. Great value multipack! www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004CHEEMW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_vId9DbRWASM5Z log onto some online service and order 8 photos after Quick Facebook stalk. 3 doggie ones 4 couple ones. Insert photos 👌 I world do a dog photo and a couple photo on each bauble xx you can order baubles with photos, probably much more expensive

I can't believe that any sane adult would prefer dog baubles/cushions/portraits to vouchers for something they actually want. 'Interesting' presents usually head straight to the charity shop.

Tbh if he’s asked for vouchers I’d go with that at this stage.

You’ve already got a crafty gift so could you get another little gift ? Maybe 2 key rings (Normally bogof) with dog on for their keys ? So two small gifts to open and then the voucher ?

FightForYourRightToPourTea · 14/12/2019 19:35

I've discovered lots of things on Etsy featuring their breed of dog so think I'm sorted!
He would be happy with vouchers (like all the males on my side of the family) but she is a real Christmas lover and has made and given lovely gifts in the past I don't want to look like a slacker who doesn't care!
