Help! My friend’s daughters are 8 ye at and 18 months and she has asked for experience type gifts if possible to combat the mountain of crap in her house (I am on board with this). But what sort of experience is suitable for children of both of those ages? Cinema is out. I’ve looked for pottery painting near her but none of them offer gift vouchers. I only have up to £30 to spend. Any amazing ideas?

a visit to the zoo or a petting farm perhaps? I think animals appeal to all ages.

Afternoon tea? Lots of places do specific kids ones

Any farm/ countryside experience type places. Any local diners you can get vouchers for. Perhaps it would cover breakfast or lunch out?

Local farm?

Farm park, soft play, have you double checked pottery place I'd be surprised they don't do vouchers. Any kind of local attraction that has a playground/soft play area the little one can run around. They'd probably be free so you'd only need tickets cor mum (and dad?) and older kid.

Have you actually asked the pottery places ? Surely all they need to do is write up something on the computer to acknowledge you’ve paid for 2 sessions.

Buy A Gift have got a family days out voucher where they can choose from lots of different things - www.buyagift.co.uk/adventure/days-out/family-days-out-choice-voucher-br-11855559.aspx

It's £29 and you get 20% off at the moment with code AFFXMAS.

If they're in/near london how about tickets to KidZania?

A quick Google says the 8 year olds ticket would be £20 and the toddler would be £10.

Otherwise how about tickets to some kind of kids show/pantomime type thing?
