Hi,
This year is my first xmas being with someone who has a child. He is 12 / nearly 13 and is obsessed with cricket so as a sort of token present (we’ve only be together 3 months) I’ve brought his son cricket world stars top trumps...He’s a nice kid not a brat or anything. I’m just wondering will that be too young for him? Is he going to look at it and think “I’m not 6!!”
Thanks!

Yes, mine wouldn’t play top trumps beyond primary school.

Top trumps is v popular with my 7 year old. I'd say a bit young for 12.…. If probably have gone with lynx type gift set if you're looking for token gift.

My 13yo loves Top Trumps but only because he's obsessed with fact finding and the subjects (in our case cars and trains) - I think they're great for a quick grab and go game for a bit of down time with him! Wrap them up with a selection box and is say that's fine :)

I guess it depends on the child - mine wouldn't "get" smellies or typical teen boy token gifts though.

Thanks everyone! I have also got him some reeses chocolate thing as it’s his fave. I think general top trumps would be too young but I thought maybe because it’s the cricket element he might be interested? Who knows! I genuinely have no experience with kids! X

If it's any consolation my 13 year old would love you forever for Top Trumps and Reese's :o

I think the fact that you've gone for ones that are relevant to his interest makes it a thoughtful gift regardless of whether he uses them or not.

Obvious question, sorry, but what does your DP say?
