What is your favourite Christmas cake?

Although I like a traditional Christmas cake it's not my favourite and no-one else in my family really likes it so we don't usually have it.

The last few years I have bought a stollen which has been lovely and a chocolate yule log which I usually find dissapointing.

This year I have got a stollen and also a pandoro. It is our first time trying the pandoro. How do people usually serve it?

My mother's. Sadly she passed away some years ago. But I love Christmas cake and I bought two of the Good Housekeeping recommended one from Waitrose and it's pretty good.
My sister will probably make an apple crumble for an alternative. What I can't abide is plum pudding and my stomach just heaves at the thought of trifle!

Half-price ones after Christmas.

Usually Asda's chocolate logs are the best.DD usually brings one as we don't love near one. For fruit cakes I make Delia's without the icky treacle. I also make stollen using the hairy bikers recipe.Last year it rose so much I had to ease it out of the oven and burnt myself with molten stollen, it still tasted better than the shop bought ones.

I like almost all festive cakes and bakes. Love stollen, good mince pies, Christmas cake with marzipan and icing. My mum makes a beautiful choux pastry wreath with chocolate, fresh cream and salted caramel on the day, and I shall make a pecan pie which we have with double cream.

I go to Asda specially to get their yule log, I think it's much nicer then the others. That's my favourite christmas cake.

I love a good slice of fruit cake with marzipan and icing. but not enough to make a whole one. This year I will buy a small one I think.

I ordered a bakewell tart from a great bakery last year and it was the dessert highlight of the season for me. My kids like Nigellas flourless chocolate cake with fruit and cream.
