@howismovingbungalow I'll be face first in a snowball next Christmas with a screaming baby no doubt

Shockers · 10/12/2019 22:09

Moomin and Ghibli fans- my favourite kind of people! Smile.

I’m drinking mulled wine right now.

goose1964 · 10/12/2019 22:15

It's hard to think of one but my else's is a sucker punch(he named it)which is after eight vodka ,Bailey's and kahlua. It tastes like a milkshake but after a couple you'll know it.

After eight vodka is made by blitzing a box of after eight and a bottle of vodka ,then put somewhere warm until the after figures dissolve.

goose1964 · 10/12/2019 22:16

After figures? New tablet with weird text thing should be after eights

HowlsMovingBungalow · 10/12/2019 22:21

Fairytale of New York - basically an Old Fashioned made with a spiced apple and pear syrup. Or a Manhattan with spiced vermouth.

Nigel Slater's thingy made by macerating sweet wine and brandy with dried apricots and star anise.

Blood orange marmalade gin and tonic.

Pedro Ximénez.

I LOVE Christmas drinks.

guffaux · 10/12/2019 22:43

pear brandy, (best served with really good coffee and annas ginger thins accompaniments)

Stravapalava · 10/12/2019 23:17

Baileys
Amaretto and cherry coke
Sherry

Only for Christmas in my house!

JoyceJames · 10/12/2019 23:51

Stones ginger wine, sherry and red wine.

DuggeesWoggle · 11/12/2019 15:45

I have just had a hot chocolate with a massive slosh of whisky - not so much being festive as a crap day with the two ankle biters.

crazypanda85 I have gone through 2 1/3 pregnancies (1/3 as had a miscarriage at 11 weeks) and the only month I have not been pregnant in is December Grin. Conceived DD possibly on this very day a year ago (or thereabouts) but didn't get bfp until NYE (so yes technically December but not Christmas). Not planned but very satisfactory nonetheless. Hope you stay strong throughout the festive period (although I'm sure the odd swig won't hurt) and enjoy it next year! There are some great alcohol free drinks out there and already been a few threads on the subject on here.

guffaw the pear brandy and ginger thins sounds incredible!

FoxInABox · 11/12/2019 15:56

Baileys
Babycham
Snowballs
Only ever drink them at Christmas.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 11/12/2019 16:12

Yup - Babycham/Snowballs/Baileys/CherryB are totally only Christmassy drinks, anything rich and sweet and retro!

I love Baileys with a glug of brandy just before bed. Must be over ice though. Then ZZZZ.

We meet at my sister's house in the late morning and have prosecco and nibbles etc. I have a glass or two or three of wine with our dinner, then it's fizzy water with lime and orange juice, till it's time for the Brandy and Baileys.

I gave up on hangovers years ago, but occasionally they slip through, and I suppose that although I hope I will be sensible on the day, I am human and don't always succeed.

But I have a cure. Do you want to know what it is? LOL. Works for me but may not for everyone, so beware!

Hope you all have a great Christmas.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 11/12/2019 16:14

Champagne 🥂🍾

Chocolate baileys

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 11/12/2019 16:16

Bubbles (champagne, cava, prosecco - I'm not at all fussy!) or Baileys with a glug of brandy.

Liking the sound of some of your suggestions folks!

oobedobe · 12/12/2019 03:17

We have a few:
Bucks fizz (christmas morning/day)
Baileys randomly throughout Dec/Jan
'Winter' Moscow Mule (vodka, ginger beer, mint and pomegranete juice)

missyoumuch · 12/12/2019 04:05

Mulled wine and Baileys! Only ever drink them at Christmastime.

everythingisginandroses · 12/12/2019 18:25

Frangelico!

JudyDenchsBloomers · 13/12/2019 05:32

Poinsettia cocktail on Christmas morning (Prosecco/champagne, triple sec, cranberry juice, lush) is a tradition and all who stay with us now love them too!

Christmas is the only time of year I drink Baileys (don't know why!) and my DH has a bottle of homemade damson gin ready from the autumn's crop of damsons. Heavenly.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 13/12/2019 06:02

Mince pie martini. Had my first one of the season last night and it was as good as I remembered from last year!

HowlsMovingBungalow · 13/12/2019 09:26

Well these all sound fabulous although I have to admit I am not a Baileys fan - too sweet and heavy for me.
Didn't find any decent crops of sloes this year so no homemade sloe gin booo.
