Skateboard for DD(12)

Can anyone recommend a skateboard for DD(12)? She'd be using it for getting from A to B rather than tricks and I'm clueless about sizes, etc. Is there anywhere she can go to try one? I thought maybe Halfords but seemingly not. We're in Scotland between a couple of cities so have most shops...

Longboards are better for cruising/getting about on. I have got my ds a Lush one for Christmas. Surfdome have quite a few I think.

She has friends with longboards but has specifically asked for a skateboard.

Have a look on Skate Hut, they have a useful guide for what size to go for each age group.

Does she mean a penny board? Have a look on Skatehut, they’ve got some on offer still but not as cheap as they were on Black Friday unfortunately, I got a genuine Penny board for DS (10) for £54!

Oh forgot to say, don’t buy a cheapo one from Sports Direct it similar as they’re useless!

Focus Skate Shop on Canongate if you can get into Edinburgh, proper boards, setup and advice. A proper board isn't cheap but will last her ages, and can be re-gripped, have new wheels/trucks etc. as needed.
