I thought I had gone OTT with my dd’s.

Love seeing the lists of what people have bought but just wanted to remind people to give to charities and food banks, there are lots of families that won’t be getting anything and can’t even afford a Christmas dinner, people that are fleeing from domestic violence and people who don’t have a permanent roof over their heads. Please give to your local food banks and women’s refuge.

Good point - I usually do a supermarket delivery to my local food bank just before Christmas. Will see if I can get one sorted for tomorrow!

Me and dd did a shop today for the food bank, we added things like selection boxes and chocolate oranges as well as the normal food items. I have spent a lot on the dd’s this Christmas but mainly on things they need, I spoke to dd (15) this morning and she was upset about how much people are spending and wanted to go and buy things to donate.

I love Christmas, I love buying the dc’s nice things and it’s so easy to get carried away but it’s also easy to forget that there are people that won’t get much at all.

I give generously to food banks and charity’s throughout the year, it has little to no bearing on what I buy my children at Christmas. I’m sure people don’t need reminding, but if you need to feel virtuous then you go ahead.

I, however, twitched on some our generation bits for the girls that I can’t wait to see them open, if the delivery people EVER decide to turn up. And I put £2.50 in the heart foundation tin at Tesco’s to ensure my halo stays shiny

Reading this I have definitely come to the conclusion that my dc are right to complain that they are more hard done by than their friends

I do donate to a local Christmas appeal and the food bank though so I’m not completely tight
