Help me find decorations for my house please!

We’ve had a horribly stressful few months. While our twins have no clue what Christmas is at the moment they’re starting to be more aware so would like to cheer us all up and make the house lovely and festive.

We have a tree and deck for that but nothing else. We have an open plan lounge diner with two fireplaces / mantelpieces. There are a couple of hooks in the ceiling, either side of dining room light fitting - no idea what they were for but might be useful.

Was going to go shopping today / tomorrow but they have a sickness bug and I have a dental infection so I’m not going anywhere other than the dentist!

Anyone seen anything lovely? Prefer classic traditional decorations where possible.

With two mantelpieces you can do matching swags. Either buy posh ones with bits and pieces already attached, or get a plain ones and add pine cones, small baubles, ribbon, bells etc or even start from scratch by winding ivy etc around string. Battery powered lights would be good. Attach each end to the mantel with Command hooks and stick a ribbon bow at each end.

I have just brought 2 9Ft prelit garlands from Amazon to go over our curtain poles - they look amazeballs

Fab, I’ll have a look. I’ve looked for garlands before and never found a good one - looking online now it does seem there are more available than there used to be.
