What would you like in your stocking?

I never had a stocking growing up, I’m now a single mum to 2 kids and I love doing their stockings, I don’t really get any gifts so thought I would do myself a stocking this year so I can open mine with the dd’s on Christmas morning.

So far I have..
A chilli bottle for the gym
Some posh marshmallows
I eyebrow hair trimmer thing
A bath bomb

There’s a few small things that I need but they are pretty boring (stuff for the gym).

What sort of thing would you like in your stocking?

A book?
A really nice lined notebook and pen to pour all my angst into Grin
Coconut soap
Nicer than normal pants
Super fluffy socks in an impractical colour
Some silver earrings
A mug
I could go on Grin
I think it’s a really good idea, if you get stuff now you’ll probably forget most of what you got, and hopefully be pleasantly surprised.

Great ideas. I need earrings (I only wear simple studs), love coconut soap and fluffy socks.

Little silver bees or something
Maybe snowflakes?
Do you like hot chocolate?
Maybe those things you swirl in hot milk to go with the marshmallows?

I think people must do stockings in a different way to us-a Chilly bottle is £20/£25. I’d have that as a main pressie!

Chocolate coins
Scratch card
Mascara/lipstick
Nail varnish

For next year but a few things in January sales, wrap them up and put them away with a note in your diary for Christmas as to where they are. Then if you are anything like me they will be a complete surprise when you open them next year. I did this for last year and it was ace, can't wait to 'find out' what's in my stocking this year.

Lovemusic33 · 05/12/2019 15:30

fedup it’s not a real chilly bottle, I bought it in Aldi today for £3.99 as the bottle I use for the gym is broken. I agree that stocking presents are things usually under £5.

I will look for some earrings, I saw some I liked at a little market a few months ago and wish I had bought them, they were little planets (I like the starts, moon, planets).

I really like the three stars in a row ones.
Also thought of a little scented candle. Tesco do ones for a pound and they are nice.

Bansku19 · 05/12/2019 16:35

Bottle of baileys.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 05/12/2019 16:37

When I've done them for adult relatives I've included...

  • hand cream
  • nice reusable shopping bag
  • mini bottle of wine or cocktail can
  • book
  • gloves
  • nice chocolates

keyring
bookmark
one of those face mask packs in a sachet
scented candle
hand warmers
fun stationery like quirky post-it notes
special Christmas tree decoration
pocket puzzle book like crosswords or suduko

I would love to get a stocking from myself or any one else, some great suggestions on here

I'm creating a wishlist for a secret Santa just now so here are some ideas for you, some of them already mentioned Xmas Smile

Page-a-day calendar with funny facts, wise quotes or similar
Electric wax melt
Yankee candle or wax melt
Nail polish
Silver earrings/ bracelet
Cinema ticket/s
Massage voucher
A book
Christmas t-shirt
Nice gloves / scarf
Mini bootle of favourite drink

If you have something that makes you feel beautiful and special, for example a face cream, new eye shadows, face mask I would add it to the list.

Hope you have a lovely Christmas 💐

What about ordering a Birchbox? That way you get a couple of surprises as well.

I always like to get a terrys chocolate orange in mine x

Lovemusic33 · 06/12/2019 16:23

I did think about the birch box but I have very sensitive skin so there’s not many products I can use Sad same with hand creams etc..

I bought myself some earrings and some baileys truffles.

Mini bottles of Prosecco/your favourite wine
A magazine that you might like to read but isn't one of your usual ones
A cute photo frame - kids can help you choose a picture to put in it
Primark do fabulous fluffy socks - they don't last forever but they are very warm and luxurious on Christmas Day!
Handbag sized scent spritzer.

ravensoaponarope · 06/12/2019 20:15

marks and spencer toasted nutmeg candle.

Lovemusic33 · 07/12/2019 15:01

raven that candle sounds amazing, love nutmeg, I might have to look out for one to go in my stocking.

I bought a chilly growing kit (chilly in a tin) today in Sainsbury’s 🤣
