£20 budget for DH?

firsttimebuyer20 · 04/12/2019 11:26

If you had a £20 budget for your DH, what would you buy him?

We usually have a much bigger budget which is easier, but I'm finding it so hard to think of something this year year that he'll like/will be useful/isn't just tat!

Any ideas gratefully received Smile

I've bought a few things under 20 for the Mr for xmas so you could get one or a combo of:

Tshirt (primark usually cheap but good, my son picked him a £6 ps4 one)
Books
Cd/DVD
A magnetic wristband for diy holding screws etc was £8 on Amazon. Think this will be the biggest hit cos he's always tinkering lol.
Boots 3 for 2 is back on I think if you want toiletries/random stuff
Hat/scarf/gloves
Beers (can usually get 2 or 3 for £5 in tesco for example)
Chocolate

TKMax can be good at this time and often have clothes, other types of gift sets for this price.

iwantavuvezela · 04/12/2019 11:39

Or a really good product from Kiel’s or something like that.

Some great suggestions, thank you Smile

Me and my partner always struggle to buy for each other, as there's nothing either of us actually wants, and we don't have the money to be just buying for the sake like so many other people do.

So, instead, we're going shopping, and each choosing some things for ourselves. Clothes, books, shoes etc. We need those, so it's practical, but we will each pay for each others'. We're going today actually! We'll make a nice day of it, have a hot drink and a cake in Costa half way, then go out for a meal afterwards. I'd much prefer that as we both know we'll like what we've got (as we chose it!)

And yes, we will be wrapping the presents and putting them under the tree. By Christmas Day we won't remember exactly what we chose, most likely, so it will still be nice to unwrap!

cherryblossomgin · 04/12/2019 11:46

I'd get him a comfy jumper from tkmaxx. Maybe something spicy of Amazon like a special hot sauce or Korean noodles.

GiveHerHellFromUs · 04/12/2019 11:49

Does he have any hobbies?

buckeejit · 04/12/2019 12:18

I've got dh cookbooks, cosy socks, special insoles, chocolate for lesser amounts. And a fire pit for outside for £20 off amazon

HoHoHolyCow · 04/12/2019 13:08

DH is getting (from various people)

A second hand iPod Nano (he specifically requested this, it's not totally random!)
Compression socks for running
A Boot Buddy
A book - How to Save the World for Free
A t-shirt from ASOS

All under £20.

If he drinks alcohol a bottle of gin/whisky/rum/English sparkling wine/whatever.

Citygirl2019 · 04/12/2019 13:37

Just purchased a nice leather belt in T K Max for £19.99 for my DP. Usually around £35. I did check before I purchased and this is correct.

Enko · 04/12/2019 13:39

Water proof radio for the shower?

FinallyHere · 04/12/2019 14:46

I would buy a bottle (wine/spirit/chilli sauce as preferred) then find a box to put it in that is wildly inappropriate. Nappies, coffee machine whatever.

Just to add some complexity to the business.

ODFOx · 04/12/2019 14:48

A big toblerone from the pound shop.
An inexpensive wallet. Something waterproof as his leather one got soaked at work.
If there's any left a half bottle of JD in the sale.

Autumnfresh · 04/12/2019 18:17

Portable phone charger.

OvalCanvas · 04/12/2019 18:19

Something nice from Molton Brown.

IggyAce · 04/12/2019 18:27

If he travels or needs lots of bits for his job have a look at a Grid it.

stayfit · 04/12/2019 18:34

You can get a tile thing if he keeps losing keys etc. I got it for a friend who uses it a lot now.

QuestionableMushroom · 04/12/2019 18:45

I’ve bought DP a Bluetooth shower speaker and a bin for his car as it’s a hovel

SatsukiKusakabe · 04/12/2019 18:46

I’ve got for my husband Touchscreen gloves
Bruce Springsteen new cd
New Robert Harris book
Wallet Ninja

Comes in around 20, and I’ll probably add chocolate and beer in the food shop.

Kielyo123 · 06/12/2019 23:32

Our budget is about 30, I've bought him a new dressing gown and some cheap but decent earphones on offer on amazon. Will also try to find him some unusual sweets, Japanese if I can find them at a decent price!

Sforsh49 · 06/12/2019 23:53

@Cherryrainbow have just looked at those magnetic wristbands. Husband will absolutely LOVE that!!! Have just bought on Amazon

agteacht · 07/12/2019 00:31

@Cherryrainbow @Sforsh49 just bought one too! DH will love it, thanks SO much! Any similar useful gifts for diy fanatic husbands welcomed!!

Sforsh49 · 07/12/2019 01:00

@agteacht I once bought mine a multi tool- Leatherman are the most well known ones. We hadn't been together long and I'd bought it as an extra. Completely overshadowed his main present, he bloomin loved it 🤣

agteacht · 07/12/2019 01:08

@Sforsh49
Oohh they look great thank you! Will research the various models but this could be Christmas sorted!
Also got him this rubbish hat which I know will be a hit 😂
