Echo Dot and other such things

Please can someone explain the difference between all these Echo/Alexa things. Wondering if I should get my hard to buy for 18 year old son one for Christmas and what I should actually buy. I don't understand what they all do and what he would want. Or...any other ideas for an 18 year old boy (not going to uni) please.....

We have the dot, the echo plus, the show and the spots around our house. They all do the same thing except the spot and the show have screens. Sound quality is better on some than others and obviously the screen ones will play videos etc. I just bought a compact show which is currently £49.99 on Amazon with a saving of around £30. They are great for playing music although you need a subscription (they aren't expensive) you can enable different skills using the Alexa app. We love ours but probably don't use them to their full potential. We have quite a large house so we use them as intercoms rather than hollering up the stairs for the kids 🤦🏼‍♀️

That's really annoying. I was so busy with work I missed Black Friday and Cyber Monday :-(

So they've got this deal which comes with a camera and seems cheaper than just buying the Echo Show 5 on its own. Seems to be a good deal, I don't have any neo smart cams so can't advise on that. Reviews look good though and the price is excellent!
