Can anyone recommend any books we may not already have? We have a LOT of books already so I’m after lesser known suggestions please Xmas Smile

My DD (4) has Fairytale hairdresser and Father Christmas. It's less awful than some of the other fairytale hairdresser ones.

Specifically Christmas themed?

Wallabyone · 03/12/2019 16:40

Michael Rosen's poetry collection 'A Great Big Cuddle' is lovely, and would be good for both ages.

I like Rebecca Cobb (she illustrated Paper Dolls). The Everywhere Bear and Lunchtime are fab.

My one year old likes all the Rod Campbell board books, including Little Monkey and Oh Dear.

Mine are the same age.

Amongst other things they are getting:
Apple Cake: A Gratitude
Pick a Pine tree by Patricia Toht
Some Elsa Beskow books

For Christmas

In general, they love everything illustrated by Alison Jay, "I took the moon for a walk" is dc1's favourite. Dc2 likes "Out of the Blue" which is a wordless book. Her twelve days of Christmas is also lovely.

When Sheep Cannot Sleep by Satoshi Kitamura

Hoot Owl Master of Disguise

Molly and the Night Monster

The Day The Crayons Quit - if they know and like this there is a new Christmas one out

The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch

Assuming you’ve got everything by Judith Kerr, Jill Murphy Shirley Hughes and Mick Inkpen Smile

SatsukiKusakabe · 03/12/2019 16:58

Oh yes Alison Jay - there is a seasons one that is lovely too

The usbourne lift the flap books are a hit in my house. I think there's 'peep inside' for very young ones and 'look inside' for older children. We have so many of these books and they are quite educational even for meSmile
