Advent calendars 2019 - "live" opening thread anyone?

This year I have a Hotel Chocolat calendar which I bought myself as a much needed treat to distract myself from the chaos that is the renovations to my home.

Day 1 is a wreath made of milk chocolate, biscuits and florentine.

What's under your numbers?

Is that the one in the red box, OP? I have bought that for my mum. Nice to know what she will be having for breakfast!

The DCs are still asleep so haven’t opened calendars yet. DS has a Smiggle one. I make DD’s so she has a pin badge which says ‘ I ❤️ Cats’.

And DCat was very pleased with her catnip one. She has rolled all over it, given it head rubs and is now lying patiently next to it, waiting for someone to help her open it .

Mine's a white box with a red ribbon. But I find that HC chocolate is very reliable in quality so whatever she gets will be tasty!

LOL at the catnip, is that 24 days of catnip?

Yes, 24 catnip-filled days. Last year, she had the Lily’s Kitchen one but got bored of that by day 3.

Ah, my dc has a catnip one as well, he’s a very happy boy.
I’ve got a Reese’s peanut butter one, I made my husband a scratch card advent calendar, and my ds has a (toysforapound) small toy advent calendar which arrives under a small christmas tree that mysteriously appeared overnight in his bedroom , hence why he was awake at 5am this morning.
I had the Hotel Chocolat one last year, it was AMAZING

Well ds has one that I fill, so Day 1 is a little light up house (I'll be fine as long as I keep one day ahead) 🤣. I bought DH a Joe&Sephs popcorn one and mine is gorgeous yarn one (that I bought myself as no other bugger will buy me one!)

I didn't buy myself a calander this year, instead I bought lots of Christmas edition cleaning stuff and several candles which I've saved for today. Christmas Zoflora, plug ins, fabric softner washing up liquid, bleach, minky sponge, kitchen roll etc etc. Normally I treat myself to a beauty one. I have bought several Lindt ones for family and a playmobil Santa one so I hope every one is enjoying them. I'm having a big cleaning blitz when 3 yr old gc goes home this morning.

Day 2 is chocolate covered praline. Yesterday's was v. tasty but it's a bit early to sample today's yet.
