Kids Christmas party outfit

We have got a few Christmas parties to attend over the next few weeks and I’m trying to find the perfect little outfit for DD. I’m really torn between the skirt and jumper and the red dress.

The dress is absolutely lovely and more to my taste, but I’m not sure if it’s a little too dressy and formal for a kids Christmas party, plus I would need to buy a little bolero for it as it’s sleeveless.

The skirt and jumper, is a little cheaper looking IMHO but it’s definitely a lot more practical and more of a fun design.

Which would you choose?

If money is the issue the skirt is lovely and H&M do beautiful festive tops for 2.99 as a jumper is often too hot at parties.

Personally I prefer the dress.

Love the dress! So cute.

Skirt and jumper. They're lovely and very appropriate for a little kids party.

The dress is lovely. It would depend on the type of party. If it’s a children’s party I’d suggest getting a festive tip (not a jumper) and nice leggings but if it’s more adult then the dress is perfect.

I got dd that dress for her nursery Christmas party.

Personally I’d get the skirt and find a festive long sleeved top/jumper that isn’t white and will be a bit more forgiving if food gets on it! The dress is too dressy for a typical kids party, especially with a bolero.

Just to add I’ve seen the jumper in store and it isn’t a very thick knit so DD getting too hot shouldn’t be an issue, but good point about the colour, white is maybe not the most sensible of choices.

I think going with a darker coloured long sleeve top/light jumper with the skirt, dark tights and red shoes (DD already has a little pair of Clark’s polka dot ones) is probably the best option. But I do still absolutely love that little red dress.

If money were no object I would just buy DD an entire Christmas wardrobe, there are just too many cute little clothes in the shops this time of year

Plus H&M’s kids clothes go in size 4-6 rather than age 4 or 4-5 so I might be able to get one or two more years wear out of their stuff.
