Gift ideas for mature student

Hi, my sil has become a mature student this year, and I was thinking of putting a bundle of stuff together for her but I don't know what!

Are there any mature students out there that can think of anything they'd love to receive?

More specifically, paper chase has really nice nice notebooks. They’re more expensive than I usually spend on myself but would love one as a present.

I've just been on the paperchase website and there's some lovely stuff!

Sorry for absurdly long link.
That's post it sticky tabs for marking passages in books.

I asked my dad for specific books.
Also I asked DP for specific books.

But I love my Keep Cup for making free drinks while I'm at uni

I'm a mature student (third year gulp!)

I'd love to get:

Power bank for my phone
Coffee shop gift card
Good quality notebooks, not hard backed
A good insulated cup
A big wrap or scarf (at my uni at least, the big lecture hall is bloody freezing)
Pens (I have a couple of types that I prefer but I'm picky)

There might be course specific stuff so if you can say what course you'll probably get more help. All those things are bits I've bought or had bought for me and found really useful.

I could order almost the whole paperchase website.

A very boring but very useful present would be a pack of extra strong poly pockets. They’re worth the extra money because the others always break.

Universities seem to have done away with those comfortable plastic chairs and bought thousands of dreadful wooden ones.

I would love one of these.

Yes a keep cup is a great idea. It's weird because I'm also a mature uni student but my budget (for myself) is strictly cheapo wilko stationary!
I love the stationary at paperchase and keepcup ideas.
I'd like to make a little hamper of stuff that'll make her happy.

That back friend looks amazing!

What would you do with the back friend when you’re not in lectures? Wouldn’t it be a bit of a pain to carry around?

For a reusable cup, contigo are amazing for being totally leakproof and keeping coffee properly hot. You can get them in Asda.

Academic diary, nice pen, document wallets, relevant study books/aids

I got these - brilliant for chilly libraries

Ask her! Pretty stationery is always nice but if it's not what suits her it's pointless. I use A4 Pukka pads as I like the paper. I don't care if there's a pretty picture on the front, I'm not looking at it. For pens I have a certain Papermate one that still works when I'm half upright, you'd be surprised how many don't.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 30/11/2019 11:12

I would 100% be willing to carry a back friend around as I'm already carrying a laptop.
But I usually just have a seminar in one room per day

They're just very long.

PurpleDaisies · 30/11/2019 11:17

Academic diaries are very personal taste. I’d be a bit wary about those.

RoryGillmoresEvilTwin · 30/11/2019 13:30

Thanks for all the help! I'm going to go for a good reusable coffee cup and some nice but practical notebooks and possibly some lovely pens.
The problem is I keep seeing stuff for myself!

I am absolutely with you there! Sounds like your friend is going to be very pleased.
