Has anyone tried the cheap version of Magformers?

I fancy Magformers for my 4 year old but they are pricey for fairly small boxes. We've never tried them before so it's a lot to spend if he doesn't take to the them. Has anyone tried the cheaper alternatives on Amazon/similar? Were they ok quality?

I wouldn't. I read a horrible story about a child dying when one broken and he swallowed a magnet. Buy the real ones not Chinese rip offs.

Budget wise - there is a good black Friday sale on their own website this weekend. Otherwise they are often in tkmaxx much cheaper.

Our kids love them and they get played with a lot. Well worth the money.

Thanks for the reply. I've always worried about magnets to be honest so I'll definitely get the real deal then. I'll have a look around for some deals. Not very close to TKMaxx sadly, as I love that store!
