Secret Santa £10

I've drawn a lovely lady but I don't know her that well.
She's probably late 30's, a mum, very fun and jolly. She's also had a rough time recently so I'd like it to be a treat.
The budget is £10 but I'm happy to go over as long as it isn't obvious.
Any ideas?

Smelly candle. You can't go wrong with a smelly candle.

sawyersfishbiscuits · 26/11/2019 17:45

A Primark (or similar) scarf or hat and a Christmassy paperback.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 26/11/2019 17:54

If she drinks, M and S have some lovely unusual drinks in around the £10 mark.

EmpressJewel · 26/11/2019 17:55

Please avoid novelty presents, they are my pet peeve for Secret Santa.

My suggestions;
Nice hand cream
Slipper socks
Nice wine glass

Turt · 26/11/2019 18:00

If she drinks, Aldi do some lovely gins.

Maybe a Molton Brown set and chocolate?

lilgreen · 26/11/2019 18:02

No smelly candles! Bottle of Prosecco. Aldi do a lovely £10 award winning champagne.

Flyingdaisy · 26/11/2019 18:04

A nice Christmas ornament/ decoration?

DomesticSloath · 26/11/2019 18:12

Some lovely ideas, thank you.
I bought someone a White Company Candle last year so can't really repeat that.
I agree with the no tat sentiment.
Reckon the booze or Christmas tree decoration are probably the right direction. I love cosmetics, Nuxe or L'occitane but I don't know her well enough the choose the right thing.

One nice thing, rather than several cheap things.

Prosecco
Posh chocs
A Benefit mini
Voucher for a local coffee shop, wrapped up with a giant chocolate coin or such, from said shop

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 26/11/2019 18:34

Posh chocolates.
I got someone a molten brown bauble a couple of years ago that went down well.
I hate getting scented candles so that would be a no from me!

snaxinyourslacks · 26/11/2019 18:41

TK Maxx has some Chillys water bottles in at the moment for £9.99. It's a real bargain as they are usually around £20.
TK Maxx also had some lovely little planters with either daffodil or hyacinth bulbs for around the £5 mark, just add some nice chocolate to bring it to £10.
I think either will make a nice secret Santa gift.

Ilikesweetpeas · 26/11/2019 18:43

Maybe a gloves and scarf set from
M&S with a gift receipt? That way she can change it if not happy ?

crustycrab · 26/11/2019 18:56

Bottle of Prosecco with a Xmas decoration. Try and find out what she likes, John Lewis have some really odd ones so I'm sure you can find something to match her tastes!

BikeRunSki · 26/11/2019 18:58

I hate smelly candles!!

I’ve done initial mugs + hot chocolate + macaroons in the past.

reluctantbrit · 26/11/2019 19:24

@MrsJoshNavidi a smelly candle would have to end in the bin in our house. DH is so sensitive I cannot even have them just standing there without being lit.

And I find most smell absolutely awful and fake.

How about a travelmug, card holder for debit card or other bus/store cards?

I wouldn’t do any form of beauty things unless y U know it is a brand she likes.

Sorry for the duplicate posting

Gemma2019 · 26/11/2019 19:43

I hate receiving smelly candles! I like getting Molton Brown baubles, Hotel Chocolat box, Clarins handcream.

Imnotweirdimlimitededition1 · 26/11/2019 19:49

Decent chocolates & I second the festive drinks in m&s they have trifle flavour I can't wait to try

PrincessHoneysuckle · 26/11/2019 19:59

A £10 bottle of champagne

StCharlotte · 26/11/2019 22:13

I drew someone I don't really know. Fortunately I've seen her wearing scarves...

ineedto · 27/11/2019 13:09

Amazon have Edinburgh gin under £12

georgialondon · 27/11/2019 13:21

Not a candle! That's one of the worse pressies for me. I'd get a bottle of wine
