Just that really! 8year old DD saying she doesn't have anything specific she wants or needs and is happy to be surprised! Any "out of the box" ideas please? Nothing too expensive preferably as she knows that mummy and daddy aren't made of money and doesn't want to ask FC for anything too expensive! Thanks in advance for your inspiration! 😊

Hi , does she like stationary? If you live in the UK we have wilko where they sell very nice sets or you could make one with whatever you like inside. They don't cost much.
If she wears perfumes you could buy one of her favourite singer's. For my daughters I recently bought the Ariana grande's perfume ....they were so happy and it looks really nice too.
Good luck!!!

I’d suggest that you have a think about the kind of gifts you’d like for her then.
I always include something at Christmas designed to buy me some peace and quiet (lego or manageable craft). I generally get something to “stretch” them a bit in the upcoming year. Last year I got her a sewing machine, a microscope the year before - both building on interests she had expressed but moving them on a level iyswim.

For main presents, my 8yo has asked for a gravitrax starter set - a fancy marble run, (around £30) and a kinetic sand set (£15), and also a lava lamp which I’ve asked her gran to get.

I’ve got my 8 year old a lot of craft/slime stuff....she wants a pottery wheel, tie dye lab, that kind of thing. Charm/jewellery making, colour your own bag, sew your own unicorns, stuff to do with gemstones....this year I’ve tried to get them things they can “do” and will eventually disappear so I don’t end up with loads of toys and crap around as we’ve finally managed to tone that side of things down!

One thing I’ve bought which she will love is a hair blinger! Both girls love note books for whatever reason, one of them has loads, she loves them! I’ve got her one she can design herself. One with her intitial on front that lights up and they’ve both asked for secret diary’s with a padlock and key! Got one of them a styling head (a proper one rather than a toy one) but it’s got rainbow hair, £19 on amazon but she’s asked for it so will be chuffed!!

DD (8) wants wall stickers and new curtains to re-theme her bedroom. I’ll get her a lampshade and a couple of ther bits too.
