Instax mini 9 any good? Any deals?

Any ideas how to get an instax mini 9 camera any cheaper? Are they worth it? It’s on dd13 Christmas list so just debating if worth it or not. Thank you!

Following as my DD wants one too.
Im put off by reviews saying poor quality photos, expensive film etc. I'm also worried as it prints every single shot you take, she'll just burn through them and waste them taking rubbish! Does anyone have any positive reports?!?! Thanks

In wondering if the HP sprocket is a better option as then you can take photos on phone and select/customise which ones to print?

For last Christmas I got an Instax classic and it's wonderful. There's something about being able to print the photo right then that makes them special but it's not that different from the days of film cameras. I think we're just all used to pointing and clicking at everything.
Also you can get good film deals if you buy a few packets at once. I'd recommend getting one. You can make lovely albums with them too, check out the Pinterest Instax boards.

I considered the sprocket Casablanca but it’s the novelty of the camera she wants (as she already uses her mobile and prints off on the family printer).

Really hoping there may be a Black Friday deal on the camera but it’s not looking likely at the mo!!
