Board games for an 8 year old?

What are some board games for an 8 year old? Currently her favourite is Monopoly. She plays the normal version but simplified rules until she gets used to it. We'd love to get her something new for christmas but not sure what.

Not so much a board game (in that there’s no board) but card games my DTs age 10 love (and have loved for a couple of years) are Go Nuts for Donuts and Dragonwood both by Gamewright. They are great games that we are all quite happy playing as a family but not too difficult for them. Dixit is the other one I always recommend - it is beautiful and a fun game to play which can be as complicated/intelligent or as simple as you need it to be.

Mole Rats in Space which is a cooperative game.
Outfoxed.
And DS1 also likes a bunch of Think Fun problem solving games that he can play by himself.
Scrabble.

Game of Life is popular here

Do not get Junior Cluedo - it is dreadful.
Labyrinth - we all love.

If they like lego, then pretty much any of the lego board games. Toy get to build the board and then play the game. We haven't had a bad one yet. Lego city game is great, as is pyramid and labyrinth.

Ticket to ride is brilliant

Monopoly deal. It’s a card game which is loads more fun than the original board game.

We always loved popomatic ludo - but you have to play it fast.

I still enjoy buckaroo and operation.

My DS is 9 and loved normal Cluedo at 8; he still does of course.

We played a fun game called Sushi Go Party at a board game shop, which he really loved. There’s a collaboration game called Castle Panic that he also enjoys.
