Need to buy for my niece. ~£40. but don't know what girls are into at that age. I'm thinking about Smiggles maybe?

At that age my dd was into:

Designafriend dolls (Argos)
Our Generation dolls
Playmobil
Sylvanian families
Build a bear
Barbies
Lottie dolls

My nearly 7yo likes board games, craft kits, outfits and accessoriesfor her doll (designafriend, our generation type thing) plus Exploring and other outdoor activities. She wants an Explorers kit to help her on her adventures with maps, compass, collection boxes, identification guides etc.

My DD is 7 and likes:

Barbies
Baby born
Slime
LOL dolls
Sylvanian Families
Dressing up
Make up/face paints

Bansku19 · 22/11/2019 11:31

My dd7 likes Lego friends, soft toys, collectibles and stationery.

HebeMumsnet · 22/11/2019 12:06

Harry Potter stuff, basically. A fancy wand from the Harry Potter shop (about £30) is top of the list, so Santa tells me.

CoastalWave · 22/11/2019 12:10

DD is 7. in the £40 range:

LOL OMG dolls
LOL dolls in general
Anything from Smiggle
Our Generation Dolls /accessories
Anything make up related (or nails)

Top Model stuff.

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 22/11/2019 12:10

My nearly 7 year old loves arts and crafts, more arts and crafts and definitely arts and crafts !
Smiggle is a big hit as is Clare’s accessories.

DarkLikeVader · 22/11/2019 12:35

Anything Harry potter themed
Lots of drawing and sketching and craft stuff
All the books
An Artie drawing robot to teach coding while she draws!
She’s not big into toys and I refuse to buy LOL - all that plastic Sad

LaCerbiatta · 23/11/2019 08:32

Lots of ideas, thank you! Not sure she's into Harry Potter yet, need to check.
Will look up designafriend and our generation dolls.
Thanks!

I think with a budget of 40 you’d probably be best to ask her parents for a heads up ,
My 7 year old would love arts and crafts ,board games, a stuffed animal, LOLs , game for her Nintendo switch , cold hard cash , hot wheels, voucher for penny’s or Claire’s , a bunch of hair stuff, scooter, anything with reversible sequins or Pom poms, lego , anything Minecraft or Fortnite, blankets, socks , nerf guns, any surprise egg crap ...

But not every kid would like all of those things - I wouldn’t like to spend 40ish on LOLs to find the kid is the one girl out of however many who isn’t into them

WalkAwaySugarbear · 23/11/2019 22:14

Mine's into Barbie so has got another one of those and a lego friends set. I've also got her a fairy garden and a drawing tracing set as she loves to draw and colour in.

WalkAwaySugarbear · 23/11/2019 22:17

I struggle with children that are not mine so play safe with clothes, similar style to what they wear, my friends do the same for mine and I'm grateful, no duplicate gifts or toys that they won't play with.

Passmethecrisps · 23/11/2019 22:21

Mine is getting various craft things. Hair chalks and wee nail polishes. I have suggested to her Aunty and uncle maybe a bean bag, Galt science kits always go down well.

I saw a great pair of roller skates in the amazon Black Friday sale today.

You could maybe get a few wee bits (anythjng unicorn, llama, flamingo) mine likes lol dolls and boxy dolls as well. Claire’s and smiggle are good
