I’m not actually sure what the budget is, I’m guessing £5-10.

Ideas please!

Chocolates and wine

livingthegoodlife · 21/11/2019 11:41

Nice chocolates, even if that means a tiny box of chocs.

Bubble bath.

I am the person described!

Crackerofdoom · 21/11/2019 11:45

If it was someone who knows me well enough, taking my kids out for an afternoon so I can be home alone and take a shit in peace.

Nothing which will require effort on her part. I would go for chocolates or wine as PP has said.

Or alcoholic chocolates so she justifiably can't share them with the kids :-)

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 21/11/2019 11:47

A Terry's chocolate orange and a nice bottle of red wine. Although that might be difficult with £10?

A Molton brown bauble (if you know she has a bath)

CroissantsAtDawn · 21/11/2019 11:49

Chocolate.

The best I've seen was 10 bars of Lindt chocolate. Person just kept them in their desk and had yummy chocolate every so often.

Exp1etiveDeLighted · 21/11/2019 11:51

Chocolate for me too.

mumao · 21/11/2019 11:55

A nice scented candle...

blackteaplease · 21/11/2019 11:56

Something nice - hand cream, red wine, a book. I'm always bottom of the priority list at home and would never treat myself to these things.

Horehound · 21/11/2019 11:57

Wine

CointreauVersial · 21/11/2019 12:00

Nice hand cream
Scented candle

NationMcKinley · 21/11/2019 12:03

Exactly what @CointreauVersial said. TKMax is great for good quality scented candles. I’ve got a couple of lovely ones by a company called Lab x Hygge

CatteStreet · 21/11/2019 12:08

I am your target person.

Nice chocolate(s).
Decent wine.
Pair of nice, warm fluffy socks if you cen get them for that price (I WFH and often have cold feet)
Voucher for a local (independent or nice chain) coffee shop.
Perhaps some nice lip balm or a small tube of good hand cream that could go in my bag.
A book (but only if you were sure of my tastes).

Not into scented candles.

coragreta · 21/11/2019 12:08

I would hate a scented candle. When can you use it with three kids running round? What about a book token. I'd love that. Or chocolate. Or try to find something about them. I got my secret Santa who is always cold a nice cheap throw she keeps in her desk for winter. She always looks so snug now.

WhenPushComesToShove · 21/11/2019 12:12

A half bottle of champagne. Just the right size for one person! 🤪

Exp1etiveDeLighted · 21/11/2019 12:18

I don't appreciate scented candles either, use them sometimes in the run up to Christmas but that's all, I have just charity shopped various ones I was given last year. Book tokens are always appreciated though.

Rystall · 21/11/2019 12:19

I like @CatteStreet’s list. I am very fussy about the hand cream / bath oil etc that I use and would honestly not use cheaper versions. Ditto scented candles. I just don’t like the chemical
smell of the cheaper ones. They would go straight into a charity bag. Not sure you can go wrong with chocolate!

Tobebythesea · 21/11/2019 16:54

I would love chocolate, wine or a Costa voucher.

Loopytiles · 21/11/2019 16:57

If you know what she drinks or eats, some of that!

Book voucher.

No toiletries or scented candles.

Drizzzle · 21/11/2019 20:20

Big box of Lindt truffles.

TheQueenSnortsAvocados · 21/11/2019 20:29

Are all busy mums into the same stuff, then?

Ellapaella · 21/11/2019 20:29

I got my colleague a Molton Brown bauble last year and she loved it.
I always buy what I'd like (and never get 😁) and I am a busy working mum of three....
Merino wool bed socks
Any warm slipper socks
Small bottle festive gin or similar
Body butter
Nice lip balm
Posh chocs from a local chocolatier

£5-10 is so hard to buy anything that's half decent. We set the same budget but I always end up going over a bit.

Emmapeeler1 · 21/11/2019 20:31

Fluffy socks or a bauble. Or wine!

SophieTurnersEyebrows · 21/11/2019 20:36

Really nice socks would work for me.

I'd hate a candle.

LetMeLayAmongTheStars · 21/11/2019 20:37

A voucher for something that can’t be used to buy something for the kids!

ruthieness · 21/11/2019 20:52

definitely not fluffy sox but a nice pair of luxury tights are always appreciated
