I need to buy for my relative age 40 with Down Syndrome - I want something lovely but I’m skint so can only spend up to £15.l or £20. She loves Strictly and snuggly stuff , crafts that are simple but not babyish
I love her to bits, and want to give something lovely and thoughtful . She also likes a nice brew of tea
Any ideas? I wondered about a basket with socks, mug, tea and a blanket
Or an easy craft kit for less dexterous fingers ?

My lovely friend who has DS loves long, deep baths, nice lipstick and champagne. Particularly champagne.

A bit of luxury to go with the socks? A lot of beautiful wrapping would add that feel.

She’s not a drinker but I love the idea of luxury and a real treat She struggles to speak and describe her likes but I think cuddly is good

She doesn’t like clothes or make up sadly as I’d love to buy that kind of stuff!

Sometimes The Works has nice craft bits, would she like bath bombs?

Cornishmum00 · 20/11/2019 21:46

A lady i support has downs syndrome she loves a warm scarf as gets very breathless when its windy so likes to cover her mouth as well. Snuggly socks are nice for anyone as well i think

What about an adult colouring set? Would she like audio books? Scarf and gloves? A salt lamp? A snuggly blanket sounds good. Maybe see what Hobbycraft have to offer?

My adult cousin with Downs loves stationery - sparkly books, pens and loves to write.

A glitter ball?
Tickets to Strictly?

Check out ALDI soon if you can, they had a craft week recently and had lots of really nice Kirsty Allsop kits to make lip balm, candles and such. Packaging was grown up and pretty and the kits themselves very simple to do. Think they were around £6 a set.

Here you go £6.99

Lip Balm Premium Craft Kit for just £6.99. Check it out: www.aldi.co.uk/p/019197321704101

Hot chocolate with marshmallows in a mug, a fleece blanket and some cosy socks? Or a DVD of a favourite film?

flissity · 20/11/2019 22:21

Really lovely luxury slippers? With some bath bits too?

Villagegreenpreservation · 20/11/2019 23:00

Great ideas here thanks. Simple craft and a blanket might be suitable as a package. Thank you! 😃

Pre Xmas idea- there are lots of tea advent calendars with a different tea bag every day - v pretty and could make a keep sake box for storing little crafty bits in once the tea is drunk
