What are you buying for your grandmother?

Need ideas, grandmother is 96, doesn’t really go out much anymore (just trips to the supermarket with her dd), we have done all the usual things such as bird feeders, gloves, blankets, slippers etc.., she doesn’t read magazines and doesn’t really have any hobbies. I’m thinking food items but I can’t find a hamper containing things she likes.

What are you buying your granny?

My great gran is a similar age. We have young children so she is getting something painted/made by them. There is a pottery painting place locally so easy to make a mug, jug, vase etc.
Does she have a garden? we have in the past bought statues or things to look at that go in the garden.
Calendar or photo frames with pictures of the family?

School photos of grandchildren in nice frames. Not very imaginative but she loves her gallery of family photos.

I've got the same problem, I'm looking at a dementia clock (not just for people living with dementia). It's a large screen with the date and time on and can have multiple alarms for medication, TV programmes etc. Or nightwear, hamper of fave foodie bits, voucher for hair, housecoat, Teddybear bedding, puzzle, puzzle books. We live with our nan so always with her but could also plan a family meal/day at the garden centre etc

Perhaps create your own hamper with all the things she would like, plus treats

She has so many photos of the grandchildren and great grand children, mine are now teens so it’s hard to take photos of them 🤣

She has a garden but no longer goes out there so it’s been grassed over and a Gardner attends to it (cuts the grass), she has a bird bath and bird feeder that she can see from indoors.

I think I will have to go down the hamper route or a voucher for the local farm shop as she loves it there.

Does she have a DVD player? I bought my Mum CDs of gardens a few years ago when she was recording from an op and not able to get out.

Got my grandma a book that has daily devotions to read. She's the same as your grandma not mobile much but has everything she needs

My grandma is also in her nineties. The last couple of years I have sent a hamper and she’s happy with that. Been looking again tonight actually and the Betty’s tearooms ones look lovely and I know she’s a fan of Betty’s

My Grandma is getting a half apron, but she asked for it. Last year she got shortbread, but saved it up for visitors!
DH's grandma is getting a school photo of DD, as that is what she asked for.

Nana is about the same .
Solar lights for the garden have been well received .
Bird bath and recently a model of a Wren to sit on top of it .
A water feature again solar powered.
All of theses she can see from her favourite chair .

She has The Lady delivered and really enjoys that.
Leather gloves for her weekly outing to marksies .
Loved her bed jacket.
Silk pillow case .
Remote control and plugs for her many side lights .
She is having a Dot this year so she can ask the time and weather . We might link it to her landline so she can use it as a phone.
She is 96 and very much with it .
We bought her an iPad a few years ago and she uses that most days .
Heated throw .

Food would be wasted on her as her diet is limited as her taste declines but a pretty biscuit box weigh her favourite snacks in might work .
