What do your 5 year olds like playing board game wise??
I've bought connect 4 and considering twister..
Are there any classics we can play as a family or him with friends?

My 6 year old boy is currently loving shark bite.

tiddledpink · 18/11/2019 18:35

under my 5yo's bed is full of board games.

I would say the biggest hits have to be;
snakes and ladders (both 3d and original)
guess who
magic maths (orchard games)
pop to the shops (orchard games)
connect 4
kerplunk

I have brought him a bingo game, twister and hungry hippos for Christmas too.

Various Orchard Games
Junior monopoly

Junior scrabble

My 5 almost 6 year old loves all of these.

Outfoxed was a big hit in our house at this age.

bumpingalongnicely · 23/11/2019 19:29

Thanks everyone which of these ones are best:

Frustration, mouse trap, hungry hippos or kerplunk??

Mousetrap is a bit rubbish really-takes ages et set up then a bit boring to play.

Others are ok. Not sure I could chose a favourite- none held my DCs attention for long, they preferred other games

Lovemusic33 · 23/11/2019 20:00

Not really a board game but my dc’s have always loved “hot potato” 😁

We have wasted a fortune on other games for them only to play them once. Guess who was popular around that age and connect 4, mouse trap took too long to set up and they lost interest.
