Advent calendar that is a little different

I have around 50 brand new Christmas and everyday children's story books and have been thinking of making them into a book a day advent calendar. I would make a nice Christmas bag to put then all in and everything would be wrapped up nicely with numbers.

I am just having a think before I do anything and started to wonder if 24 books would be a slight overload just before Christmas and so was thinking should I take a couple of the books out and do some of the following?

   * Make Christmas cards (would put the things in to do this)
   * Make Christmas gift tags
   * Put a handmade Christmas brooch/badge in
   * A Christmas hair scrunchie (obviously only if I know it is going to
     be for a girl
   * A night or 2 before Christmas eve put a bag of reindeer food in

What do you think? This is for me to sell alongside my fabric advent calendars that I have made.

If I do go ahead how much would you be prepared to pay?

Thanks

hopeful bump or do you think it is a lousy idea?

Hi!
I like the idea. Where would you sell them? Online or a craft fair/Christmas market? You wouldn't be able to make many with only 50 books though even if you take a few out and add your other bits.

I am doing a craft fair next week plus I have been advertising on good old FB and sold a fair few things so far.

I would probably on make 2 or possibly 3 if I could get enough ideas for the rest of the bits.

Have just thought of another idea - a finger puppet, may be a Christmas key ring?? (not sure on that one)

Thanks for answering.

Yes, a finger puppet but no to the keyring (just my opinion)
What about a gingerbread man/house/tree for them to decorate with icing etc?

I was trying to stay clear of food. Otherwise a good suggestion (My DC used to love decorating them)

I could make them into a Christmas decoration though

Yes my DD (now 15) still does! We made a gingerbread house last year!
Christmas decorations for the tree could work.
I hope whatever you do it's a success and dare I say, Merry Christmas 🙈!

It sounds absolutely amazing, BUT I think people see advent calendars as cheap(ish) things, so you might struggle to get back what it even cost, never mind your time, given there's 24 really good doors to open.

Nothing wrong with filling a couple with sweets :).
