My mum has asked for a nice new carryon suitcase for Christmas. What are good brands of suitcase or where can I look? Have you got one that you love? Extra points awarded if it also looks good.

Debenhams have a half price sale and were cheaper than anywhere else I looked
So great bright colors so they’re easily spotted at the airport

Another vote for Debenhams. I bought MIL a gorgeous one from there couple hrs ago and a nice soap bag to match.

MadeinBelfast · 16/11/2019 09:20

Which airline does she tend to travel on? They all have slightly different size limits so check she could use it on board. I like the Debenhams Tripp ones too but just check the size carefully.

Beetie1 · 16/11/2019 09:31

I will have a look at Debenhams thank you.

I don't think there's a airline that she travels on more than others as she tends to do a mix of long and short haul each year.

Samsonite all the way

SillyBub · 16/11/2019 09:33

TKMaxx is worth a look.

LesLavandes · 16/11/2019 09:34

Defo Samsonite

FamilyOfAliens · 16/11/2019 09:36

TKMaxx - fantastic selection and great value.

VeryGenuinequestions · 16/11/2019 09:53

Tk max has all sorts of brands

habipprtyh · 16/11/2019 09:56

I always buy Tripp from Debenhams. Also samsonite you can't go wrong with.

Go for brand over fashion. Fashionable suitcases are usually cheap crap.

Ticklemeelmo · 16/11/2019 09:58

Antler suitcases are very good, I have two I use all the time and both have lasted a long time.

I've seen them being sold in TK Maxx recently so definitely worth a look there

Nanalisa60 · 16/11/2019 10:04

Debenhams have good offers on, but my favourite suitcases have been from M&S I think looking on line is the best idea as the shop seem to have less in store thus time of year. Also look at John Lewis.

TokyoSushi · 16/11/2019 10:05

Tripp suitcases from Debenhams are lovely. Samsonite also fab but £££

filka · 16/11/2019 10:16

Samsonite, but in the past I had some very good Delsey cases. I always go for a clamshell hard case.

But baggage is always in the sales so personally would never buy before Christmas!

WhereverIMayRoam · 16/11/2019 10:26

Another vote for Tripp luggage from Debenhams and they currently have some at 50% and more off. Their overnight bags/holdalls are also really sturdy.

TeaMeBasil · 16/11/2019 10:39

Another vote for TKMaxx, always a great selection in our one!

What is your budget

Rimowa are fabulous

runwithme · 16/11/2019 11:36

I bought Samsonite for my mum but TKmaxx have some beautiful ones. They had a range called Halina or Helena, they are gorgeous!

Beetie1 · 16/11/2019 12:47

Budget wise - up to £100 but the cheaper the better though I still want decent quality.

River island had really pretty ones but I'm not convinced about the sizes for flying

more statement than practical?

Alwayscheerful · 16/11/2019 15:54

I buy Samsonite from to TK Max but am told Tripp are good too.?

Beetie1 · 16/11/2019 17:41

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I had a look on the Debenhams website at their sale and went for this one: https://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod1070111000136536+T450433-1
