My son asked to wear mine recently and loved it, he struggles a little with his numeracy si think a cheap ish one from santa might be a fun way to help him track steps etc. Any ideas which ones won't break the bank but aren't awful? He doesn't have a phone (and won't for years) so need one that works on it's own. Thanks.

I should add, I looked at vtech and looked lots of fun/ good value, but thinking the camera/games might make it inappropriate for school as a temptation to play with (though DS is pretty well behaved), Garmin one looked less funny and is quite a bit more £, but thinking it might be better as one he can wear all the time?

Check school even allow them my son has a garmin junior he is 9 and loves it but all of these types of watches are banned head wont budge on it despite me arguing its unfaircteachers wear them and compare steps in front of kids (I have a gobby reception child who said mummy you said these watches are banned but Mrs x said she had done more steps than Mrs y and they had the watches on)

My son has the garmin one and loves it. I have the app on my phone.
He has had his a couple of years so may not be an issue now but his loses time terribly and needs syncing every few days to keep accurate time. Battery lasts a year so no need to charge regularly which is good

Amazon have one called a Xiaomi Mi Band 3 fitness tracker. It was around £20. Our 7 year old got it for Xmas and it’s fab. Completely waterproof. Accurate. Does pretty much the same as the Fitbit. Cheap straps but stays on firmly for swimming and football so far and he loves it.

My nearly 8 year old has one like this. LETSCOM Fitness Tracker, Pedometer Watch with Slim Touch Screen and Wristbands, Wearable Activity Trackers as Sleep Monitor, Fitness Watch without Heart Rate https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071PBTFNV/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_vZ0ZDb4PXC4D7

My older son does too - the app for the youngest is on my phone. Tells the time and counts steps/heart rate. The eldest's broke after 11 months (the display stopped working) and they sent another, no quibble

Check out the Go by Reima. It’s a small disc shaped tracker. You can buy a watch strap to put it in. Syncs to an app.
