What to buy Dads?

My 53 y/o dad is tough to buy presents for, his only hobby is gardening yet I have bought every possible garden gadget for birthdays etc. We have said we aren't going over board with presents this year so I have bought mum one main present which was quite expensive so I really want to match this for my dad... any ideas?

Sounds odd, but would something like a hedgehog house go down well? (Garden related anyway). Or was thinking a day out package with lunch somewhere he would like to go, that you could put together even if you cannot actually buy things as vouchers for it : buy a calendar instead and write on a good date for it somewhere in the Spring.
Depending on budget and many other things, there are sometimes day or overnight coach trips to the Keukenhof tulip gardens in Holland at the right time of year which are not hugely expensive and could be an experience - again, would have to aim to do it out of wintertime, and keep an eye out. I think Newmarket Travel is one place that offers this.
Sometimes the cinema chains also have interesting offers where they will do a gift that comprises pairs of tickets for several hotly-anticipated future films over a few months.

A beautiful bird bath or bird feeder for the garden?
