I'm looking to get a few games for my son to wrap up for his Christmas. Have your kids got any favourites that are round about my sons age?

Mine is a bit older, but games enjoyed at that age include:
Quirkle
Colt Express
StarWars Carcassonne
Quoridor

These are games chosen not to be utterly tedious for adults.

DS is 7 and loves all board games. His current top favourites are Labyrinth and Game of Life.

CuteOrangeElephant · 13/11/2019 10:40

Carcassonne is brilliant, simple enough at that age but still a very good game.

Labyrinth
Pokemon Monopoly (other versions of Monopoly available!)
Ocean Bingo
Jnr Pictionary
Dobble
Jumbalup (card game rather than board game)

Dobble
Carcassonne
Ticket to Ride First Steps
Enchanted Forest
Labyrinth

The 1 player Smart Games are very popular with my dc as well - Jump In is our favourite.

We played endless Dragonwood when DS was 6/7. It's really good.

Ah, I’m glad to see Jump Jn mentioned here - just bought it for my soon-to-be 7 year old.

Said child loves:

  • Monopoly Jnr
  • Frustration
  • Jenga
  • Game of Life
  • bugs in the Kitchen
  • exploding kittens
