Christmas jigsaws?

Just wondered if anyone could recommend where to buy a Christmassy jigsaw - something challenging like a street scene or market with 500-1000 pieces?

I haven't done a jigsaw in years, but saw a nice one in a charity shop and I fancy spending some quiet time with DS & DH on something like this. I should probably just have bought it but was nervous of buying a secondhand 1000-piece jigsaw due to the risk of missing pieces Xmas Confused I know WH Smith sell some, but wondered what else you might recommend. TIA Xmas Smile

the Happy Puzzle Co is worth a look, they have lots of unusual ones. I got dd a great double sided Marmite puzzle from there Smile

Thanks to you both Smile Happy Puzzle Co is a good shout - I bought DS a game from there a few years ago and had forgotten all about their existence.

There are lots on eBay (filter on 'new')

LOVE a jigsaw – I've got one on the go at the moment and although DP and DSS chuckled at me and called me 'grandma' at first, I keep catching them having a quiet go as they walk past it on the table.... Grin

I was thrilled last week to find not 1 not 2 but 3 brand new 1000 piece christmas jigsaws in a local charity shop. Best £9 I have spent in ages. Just started on my second one tonight. Love a good jigsaw - very relaxing.

I saw loads in the works yesterday

Wentworth have some beautiful puzzles. They’re more expensive than cardboard ones, more of an heirloom investment really.

popcorndiva · 12/11/2019 22:49

We have a wasjig christmas one this year. We are going to start doing it on 1st December and aim to get it done by Christmas.

ladybee28 · 13/11/2019 08:50

These are definitely NOT Christmassy and they're pretty pricy (especially with shipping), but they are BEAUTIFUL and I want the Meta Puzzle SO BAD.

Sharing here (despite not being what you asked for, OP – sorry!) in case anyone else is a massive jigsaw nerd like me and would like a snoop:

Another vote for Wentworth.

Hobby Craft had some last year at a good price

CandlesAreHere · 13/11/2019 11:14

eBay. Lots on there, including brand new.
I love Christmas jigsaws.

livingthegoodlife · 13/11/2019 12:45

I've been desperately looking for a good Christmas jigsaw for a while now. I like interesting pictures rather than just a Christmas scene. The hint continues.

Bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 13/11/2019 13:25

I second wasgij puzsles- they are great to do with family. We are doing a Christmas one as an advent calendar this year. in the box you get a classic puzzle- the picture on the box, and a mystery puzzle- ours is santa on the box looming at something and you puzzle what he sees

Bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 13/11/2019 13:31

Looking!! Not looming.... that would be weird

5foot5 · 13/11/2019 13:32

Gibsons are my favourite jigsaws as they are so well made and have lovely pictures. Last Christmas I got my sister their 500 piece jigsaw of Bourton on the Water. I bet they have more. Most good toy shops sell them, and W H Smith and no doubt you can get them on line

5foot5 · 13/11/2019 13:34

Sorry to hijack but I wonder if anyone knows of any Christmas themed jigsaws that are only 100 pieces? I wanted to get one I could put in DDs advent calendar - a few pieces every day.

VolcanionSteamArtillery · 13/11/2019 13:35

Ive never had aproblem with charity shop jigsaws, most are labelled with either complete or 1 piece missing

everythingisginandroses · 13/11/2019 22:16

Some lovely ideas here, thank you all Xmas Smile Wentworth puzzles do look gorgeous. Popped into The Works this morning and weighing up a couple of their puzzles atm.

We get a jigsaw each Xmas at start of December. Usually from House of Puzzles, the ones with the pieces shaped liked objects, there were pieces shaped like holly and even a snowman. Love them!

catitude · 14/11/2019 09:02

John Lewis have gone to town on jigsaws this year, they had loads in when I looked yesterday.
Also Re charity shop jigsaws, I was talking to someone the other day who's job it was to do the jigsaws before they were put on sale to make sure the pieces were all there!!

Oldraver · 14/11/2019 21:33

We have one that is specific to our our area, so Christmas in the Cotswolds as it mentions several places local to us

I believe they do them for lots of different areas

ravenshope · 15/11/2019 12:34

I just bought a gorgeous one from the Works - was £10 though which I found surprisingly expensive for there. Probably because it's Ravensburger:
