My friend's 6 yr old has asked me to get him a 'Grow your Own Venus Flytrap' kit, because he wants to watch "plants with jaws" eat bugs.

Quirky idea. And gruesome.

My 6yo DD has asked for an Explorers kit full of all the stuff that is useful in her adventures... Map, map case, compass, collecting boxes, tools, binoculars, gloves, identification guides.... We've got a bit of scope there.
So far from other people she's getting Lego, books, dinosaur stuff, basketball hoop.

I've also got a Nat Geo kids mag subscription (joint with sister), animal adoption and den kit on her suggestion list.

The 6 year old is getting:
Destiny's Bounty Lego set (Ninjago) as a shared gift with his brother.
He has asked for some specific Lego minifigs that we'll get from Bricklink.
He'd also like
Gekko and the Gekko Mobile to complete his set
Some PJ Masks villains
Possibly some more Playmobil as that is always successful.

The 8 year old is almost done.
He's getting
Destiny's Bounty
Spiderman Lego (two different sets)
He's also asked for a Playmobil police truck, but we haven't decided if he'll get it yet.

Both are having Minecraft annuals.
Would like to get them a board game each too.

highheelsandweathercocks · 08/11/2019 18:01

Playmobil and Lego are our go to in this house.
Two years ago DS2 saw a TV advert for the Playmobil police station and accessories and wanted the lot, so we themed his gifts around that. We bought the police station, MIL bought the helicopter, my dad bought the police prisoner transfer van etc.

Last year he got a Jurassic Park style set with a boat.

We also have the fire station, fire engine, camper, pirate ship and the pyramid. Highly recommend it all. The pyramid and police station are probably the most used.

Have attached the police station picture

My boy is 6 this month and I have just started Christmas shopping.

He is getting Lego friends amusement pier plus the octopus ride as he asked for those.

Also got him another Lego friends set.

He wants more cars stuff although he has a lot already so not sure about that.

I'll get him some books.

Jigsaw puzzle.

Gravitrax.

Some small bits and bobs.

Until his birthday has passed it's hard because I don't know what he will get from that.

ysmaem · 10/11/2019 12:42

A smart watch you can put a sim.card in so he can make and receive phone calls. He wanted a mobile so this was my compromise.
A few buzz Lightyear toys.
A couple of board games.
Nerf guns.
Robotic batman.
Wild west playset.
Fortnite bundle (it's a code you get to get some stuff and vbucks 🤷‍♀️).
A new controller for his xbox.
Grumblies.
Hot wheels.
A couple of lego sets.
Stationary.
Annuals.
Bike.

OneIsAWorldOfBooks · 10/11/2019 12:51

DS 7 is getting:
A switch
An echo dot for his bedroom (got it yesterday in the sale)
A watch
Gravitrax
A new bike helmet
Walkie talkies

Then the usual pjs, pants, socks etc. Maybe some jigsaws or a new board game.
