I've got one. Had it for around 4 years. It's still pretty good at home.

Pretty useless if you're not online. So we never take it when we go away (eg camping).

We use it for browsing. Sometimes for watching Netflix / iPlayer.
DD uses it too for homework - secondary. Sometimes she does have to use my work laptop (Windows) as Word is still much much better than Google Docs.
I am going to get a MacBook for myself soon.

AndWhatNext you can now download all the Microsoft Office apps (including Word) onto your Chromebook from the Play Store.

I have one and I love it. Dh is IT so we have a lot of complicated tech stuff in the house. My chromebook is an Acer and is simple, logs on in half a second, won't get any virus as no hard drive, everything is stored on the cloud. Updates are completed in about 10 seconds, none of the spinning icon whilst you wait for things to install. Very quick. Also lightweight. I think I have had mine 5 years.

I use Google Docs/sheets as I don't need to do anything complicated (it isn't a work laptop) I browse the internet, watch YouTube, Netflix and Amazon Prime stuff on it.

I can't print from it though, I use the children's computers for any printing or I can share a google sheet with one of my teen sons and they print it off for me. Depends if I am doing a letter (share/send to son) or if I am using a software program that I use to print cards then I use the other computer.
