When you find out can you tell me? I distinctly remember buying my DD a reduced joules Xmas top in the summer but I can't find it anywhere!!

I found my nephews board game I bought and hid for last year (and couldn't find in time) so at least I can give him that!

livingthegoodlife · 06/11/2019 14:32

More helpful ideas and places I have searched:

Under bed drawers
Wrapping paper drawer
Loft hatch
Home office cupboard
Bottom wardrobe
Shelf in wardrobe

Good luck!

Herocomplex · 06/11/2019 14:33

Every year the same for me. Don’t worry though, you’ll find in two days after Christmas.

merryhouse · 06/11/2019 14:38

Normally, top shelf of the corner wardrobe.

Next places to look would be all the other top shelves in the bedroom.

Under the blankets (we never use blankets) in the otherwise-unused drawer in husband's wardrobe.

One of the plastic boxes under the bed.

If it's bulky, in the loft in a black sack.

Barbarara · 06/11/2019 16:37

I have a gift in my stash that I bought for dd in Jan 2017. This might be the year she actually gets it. Then again ....

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 06/11/2019 17:19

In the boxes of Christmas decorations.

Or hiding at the bottom of a box with other random stuff on top of it in a cupboard or the garage.

If it's small, hiding at the back of your underwear drawer.

TheSecretJeven · 06/11/2019 17:21

Cupboard under the stairs/odd corners?

OnlineShopping · 06/11/2019 17:25

Drawer under the bed and then they inevitably fall out and need to be dug out.

Themazeoflife · 06/11/2019 17:28

Don't ask me, I have just found the missing birthday present from last year, in a box, in the kitchen cupboard.

user1493494961 · 06/11/2019 17:34

I'm sure I've got lots of presents and cards up in the loft, I can't actually get up there but DH assures me there's nothing there. I'm going to have to conquer my fear of the ladder (it's quite high and I'm quite short) to see for myself. I reckon I'll probably find a stash going back at least five years.

sawyersfishbiscuits · 06/11/2019 17:35

My Mum does this every year!
Is it in a bag with the Christmas decorations?

Allthepinkunicorns · 06/11/2019 18:49

I hide presents under the bed, in my wardrobe hidden under clothes. In my suitcase. Under the stairs. Behind/on top of wardrobe. Do you have a spare bedroom, if you do check in there. The garage? Out buildings, shed? Utility room?

TheAnnoyingSatsuma · 06/11/2019 19:12

I just received a Christmas bauble for my birthday as DH ‘lost’ it last Christmas. Now we have to make sure it doesn’t disappear again before the tree goes up.

Places to look
Car boot
Behind the sofa
In a bag hanging on a hook on the back of a door
Blanket box

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 06/11/2019 19:42

My mum recently gave my dd a purse that she bought for me when I was about 12 and put in a safe place. Took 25 years to surface!
Good luck!

FenellaMaxwell · 06/11/2019 20:14

I can unhappily report they are in none of those places.

@livingthegoodlife the missing stash includes a Joules top here too - maybe it’s their fault?!

Airing cupboard

Parents house

Under spare room bed

MustardScreams · 06/11/2019 20:53

God knows, I found dd’s onesie I bought her for her first Christmas last week, 2 years late!

PrettyPurse · 06/11/2019 20:53

Behind the sofa

Under the sofa

On top of display cabinet

Under chest of drawers

Orangesandlemons123 · 06/11/2019 20:56

On top of the kitchen units? Garage/shed/neighbours house?!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/11/2019 09:57

Probably in with two sets of bedding ( DD grey fleecy KS and DS red double so fairly hefty sized )

I am convnced they are in the loft .
DH has looked but cannot find them.
They aren't in the small bedroom/ junk room
Under any beds
In wardrobes
On wardrobes

I will shove him back in the loft until he finds them Xmas Hmm

Mumdiva99 · 07/11/2019 09:59

The loft or top of bedroom wardrobe - right on top where I have to get a ladder to see what I've hidden. If in the loft they will be forgotten about until they've grown out of the item!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 07/11/2019 10:14

Airing cupboard
On top of a wardrobe
Under the sofa.

I sometimes think the safest place to hide things is in the middle of the living room as no one in this house can find things they've left on the living room floor...

I keep a list of what’s in the loft hidden inside the airing cupboard, and if I’m super organised, write which numbered plastic storage box it’s in to make it easier to find. Saves having lots of little bits hidden all over the house, in case one is accidentally found by the DCs.
