What were last year's Nintendo Switch prices?

Hi, I'm planning on buying my DS a switch this year. I'm normally a top bargain hunter but these seem past my knowledge.

I'd appreciate it if anyone could share what sort of price they paid last year, bundle prices are welcome too. I don't want to wait until Black Friday and find they are no better priced or more expensive than they are now.

Apart from Argos, Currys, Smyths and Amazon is there anywhere else I should be looking at buying one from.

Thank you

The Nintendo switch does generally hold its value and so do the games compared to other consoles.

We got ours in March for about £300 I think with two or three games included. That was from Game. DH has a game card so got lots of points with it. But most places have very similar prices and deals on them.

Just make sure that you are comparing deals for the same versions. They have now brought out a new version which is hand held only, it can't connect to the telly (which is the whole reason we liked the switch because it did both!). Obviously it's a lot cheaper.

Very currently have a deal on various packages. You get £50 credit back I think. But may be worth looking at for comparison

I had my Son's from Very last year black Friday deal and it was the cheapest deal I could find.

I'm sure I paid around £260 for the console with a download code for Mario-Kart and the actual game chip for Let's Go Pikachu

They bought out V1.1 of the main console in the Summer. Slightly better hardware and battery life has doubled. You are unlikely to find any major deals on the console pre Christmas. I've seen Console + a game for £299 in Smyths and Game. Included games in the offer are usually £40 so you save £20.

Thanks everyone.

I don't usually shop on Very, so that's a good call.

Has anyone any experience with the eBay shops like Argos or Currys? What's the deal with them?

Wet is your best bet I think. They have a good deal at the moment, and if you apply for a credit account as a new customer you’ll likely get a new customer deal on top of that. It’ll be 9 months interest free but you can just pay it off in one lump sum after the first statement if you’d prefer.

I paid £235 for mine with no game from very a month ago. It was £20 off plus a 10% credit back offer.

At the moment it’s £50 credit back, plus with a new customer deal I reckon you’d get one for around £200

Very not wet Confused

I also bought from Very last Black Friday. AO also had a similar deal, but the game choice at Very suited me better.

Keep an eye on hotukdeals in the run up to Black Friday.

Grafittiqueen · 07/11/2019 09:24

I also had one reserved on Amazon, in that I arranged delivery of it for after black Friday and cancelled it when I found a better offer. I was totally hedging my bets!

mamabluestar · 07/11/2019 11:00

@Grafittiqueen I've never thought of doing that, what a good idea. When is payment taken when you order like that?

@mamabluestar they take payment when the item enters the dispatch process so as long as you cancel a couple of days beforehand then you don't get charged. It's a tip I got from hotukdeals.
