Can I please have your ideas for board games for adults on Christmas Day evening. We like Cards against Humanity, but that's been done a few times. It doesn't have to be outrageous (like CAH) but anything that will produce a laugh would be good ! There will be 5 of us. Thanks !

If you want to be slightly energetic there is The Crystal Maze game, where there are some physical challenges as well as less physical ones. Definitely makes you laugh, especially if some drink may have been consumed!

Mousy mousy is an old childhood favourite that becomes very animated.
Articulate?
Charades?

Serin · 03/11/2019 19:17

If you know each other well....twister!

parrotonmyshoulder · 03/11/2019 19:18

Pandemic - not funny though!

Examssuck · 03/11/2019 19:18

We love articulate

Oct18mummy · 03/11/2019 19:18

What do you meme

icantfind · 03/11/2019 19:20

Monopoly deal (card game), causes multiple tantrums and false confidence in adults.

Great British train game, another one where one card can destroy someone’s game.

AllTheCakes · 03/11/2019 19:20

Obama Llama!

FlipperyGibbet · 03/11/2019 19:21

We love dobble!!

Mummyilovejokes1 · 03/11/2019 19:35

Monopoly cheat version, great if a few of you and there are drinks involved. I played it with my dp and it was good but would be so much better with a group!

Mothermia · 03/11/2019 19:42

Codenames is absolutely brilliant, award winning and gets very tense!

IamEarthymama · 03/11/2019 19:45

Where in the World tests your knowledge of places across the globe.
I love it!
We met the creator in John Lewis last Christmas and I was really pleased. Poor man!

Bagsalot · 03/11/2019 19:47

Ticket to ride is our favourite. We also like pandemic. Neither are funny though!

SonjaMorgan · 03/11/2019 19:53

Try "shout!". Good fun with a few glasses of wine.

Lexplorer · 03/11/2019 20:17

Where in the World is our favourite as well. Even if you consider yourself a geography expert (me) you easily get caught out on the fiendish squares of the world map! So suitable for everyone. Also love Articulate, Mapominoes, Pictionary (hilarious),

Downwind · 03/11/2019 20:34

Balderdash - you are given an obscure word and you each have to come up with a meaning for it. Or are given a title of obscure film/book and have to come up with a plot. They are all read out by by one person, along with with the correct answer, so you don't know who's is who. Then you vote which one is correct. Very funny.

SkiingIsHeaven · 03/11/2019 21:11

Absolute Balderdash

ItsReallyOnlyMe · 03/11/2019 21:33

Brilliant idea - thanks all !

Chain reaction is hilarious especially if you've had. A few to drink

bellalou1234 · 04/11/2019 16:59

Twister? 🤪

Luckyleprechaun80 · 04/11/2019 17:04

Telestrations is very good and we always have a good laugh playing it.

MrsD0147 · 04/11/2019 17:06

The Cube is brilliant! And Dobble (although it looks like a kid's game) is funny, the right kind of game aggressive and good fun

FriedasCarLoad · 04/11/2019 17:06

Does anyone know which is the one where you get an obscure phrase, draw it in a notebook, pass round in a sort of cross between Chinese whispers and Pictionary?

One of the funniest ones I’ve ever played as an adult but I don’t know what it’s called!

FriedasCarLoad · 04/11/2019 17:09

Ooh I think the game whose name I’d forgotten was Telestrations, mentioned earlier. I’d recommend it!

UnaOfStormhold · 04/11/2019 17:10

Munchkin? Lots of sending up of fantasy tropes and lots of opportunities to do silly/ nasty things to sabotage your opponents chances!
