Some background

He is an architect and very particular about what he likes / dislikes

In past years I have bought him Paul Smith scarves, Yottam O cookery books, gardening vouchers (he has an allotment), he is also a keen sailor.
I really do not know what to get him........ I want to spend £30 this year max. for his birthday this year, in desperation I got an Amazon voucher..... Flowers

I saw this on another thread, good choice for an architect too? My dad loves his fine liners and super sharp pencils.

Ah, I feel your pain, OP!

Difficult to buy books/art for an awkward bugger architect unless you know their taste/subject area really well: I've misjudged only slightly more than once...

so probably play it safe and opt for something generic:

Limited edition illustrated architecture pencil (or small items) tin?
(£16.50)
www.selinajayne.co.uk/selina-jayne-architect-limited-edition-designer-pencil-tin-31097-p.asp

or

(simple design/nautical theme)

Solid brass anchor corkscrew/bottle opener
(£18)
www.thenauticalcompany.com/brass-anchor-corkscrew-and-bottle-opener.html

combined with:

Does he sea sail?
Any keen sea sailor loves supporting the RNLI:

£10 RNLI 'Fuel A Lifeboat' virtual gift?

shop.rnli.org/products/fuel-a-lifeboat-10

Or for fun, architect phrases printed pencils:
(£7.50)

Good luck.

@Chottie Someone on another thread mentioned niwaki.com which sells Japanese gardening stuff. It's very expensive but some of the secateurs/pruners are in your budget.
