Hi

DS (age 4) has decided he wants the baby annabell lunch time table for Christmas. He has never had any dolls before and I'm clueless. Do I need to get him a baby Annabel doll or will any doll be ok? It says 'watch her reaction' but don't think the doll would do anything?? I thought the baby born doll looked a bit more interesting for the money as the normal pink ba doll is £40 but doesn't seem to do anything

thanks for any help

Hello

I have 2 baby annabell obsessed daughters so have some insight. The £40 ish classic baby annabell (43cm one) is an interactive doll, cries babbles snores sucks a bottle/dummy, wees, eyes open and shut automatically etc. There are now quite a lot of other baby annabell dolls too, the other one that is interactive is My 1st Baby Annabell Baby Fun, that one is intended for younger children Really (is lighter than the standard baby annabell doll), it cries and babbles snores etc but doesn’t suck a dummy drink etc. The others that Baby Annabell do, Mia etc are not interactive I don’t think??

The main difference to Baby Born is that Baby Annabells have soft/fabric bodies

Overall the main 43cm baby born/baby annabell dolls are not vastly different, made by the same company etc. They do look different so comes down to that, whether want a softer body and price, what offers are around.... we are stuck with BA as my eldest is a sucker for their advertising!

I would also think any doll would be fine as mainly role play - but I have found that the not all dolls are the same and my girls completely ignore the cheaper ones and only have eyes for baby annabell (she is quite cute and nicer plastic etc)

I wondered this too, as my DD has and loves Baby Borns. She does have 2 old Annabells that are broken and don't have functions anymore, (she doesn't play with them but won't let me throw them away). I much prefer Baby Born for this reason. She seems to play better with dolls that don't have battery functions. She wants a Tiny Treasures boy doll this year. Anyway I digress, I saw a YouTube video review of the lunch time table and it was being used with a Baby Alive doll. So I say yes, it can be used by any type of doll for sure. It was the only review video on YouTube last time I looked so you should be able to find it.
