As the title says really. I have a stack of Christmas cookery books, also enjoy Sarah Raven's book for some different decoration ideas. I know there is Pinterest but I do love snuggling under a fleecey throw reading Christmas books!

I liked Pippa Middleton’s Celebration book which was out a few years ago. You also have Tanya’s Christmas and Cordially Invited (all seasons).

Nigel Slater's Christmas Chronicles is lovely, a combination of reminiscences, diary and recipes, it starts on 1st November and I've just dug it out to read again from then.

ChicCauldron · 29/10/2019 21:34

Anthea Turner, Perfect Christmas
Pippa Middleton, Celebration (as mentioned by Star)

Usually a Good Housekeeping magazine out each year about Christmas - in fact there seems to be a lot of Christmas magazines out already!

I haven't read Sarah Raven's book

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 29/10/2019 22:15

Thanks all. I used to by loads of Christmas magazines and end up disappointed because never much new in them so figured I might as well invest in books and re-read (browse!) them every year.
@ChicCauldron I like the Sarah Raven book but don't rave about it the way some do. Am sure you could get a 2nd hand copy off eBay

I have this one: The Advent Craft and Activity Book: Stories, Crafts, Recipes and Poems for the Christmas Season www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0863159125/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_vFsUDb1K66547?tag=mumsnetforu03-21 it does what it says on the tin - crafts, recipes and poems!

TheCanterburyWhales · 30/10/2019 06:19

The Nigel one is beautiful! I'm doing as pp and working through it from 1st Nov.
Don't be put off by him- I literally cannot watch the smug smugster on TV but he writes very well.

TheCanterburyWhales · 30/10/2019 06:22

I find the Sarah Raven one a bit meh - too much garden twine not enough mincemeat!

daisydalrymple · 30/10/2019 12:57

Scandinavian Christmas by Trine Hahnemann is lovely.

daisydalrymple · 30/10/2019 13:01

Also New York Christmas is lovely to look through too

Candlesonthetable · 31/10/2019 16:17

I also love Handmade Scandinavian Christmas by Hege Barnholt: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1446303616/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_OFWUDbPWK5C5Q?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

The Nigel Slater Christmas Chronicles book is 99p today on the Kindle version - even if you don't have a Kindle reader you can download the app on to your phone or laptop, still keeping an eye on New York Christmas as well!

One week to go!

ArabellaPilkington · 17/12/2019 17:47

I read Nige's Christmas Chronicles from the beginning of December each year - adore it!
