Christmas stockings matching or non matching?

Jollymollyx · 28/10/2019 18:05

Haven’t had them before and planning to 5 for us all this year and continue the tradition Grin

So what looks nicer? Matching or non matching? I do prefer the non personalised ones

All matching and personalised here. Not on the high street.

mummyof2boys30 · 28/10/2019 18:15

We got the matalan knitted ones with initials last year

FantailsFly · 28/10/2019 18:19

I like non-matching but same colour family (e.g. all combinations of red and white, or white and grey).

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 28/10/2019 18:20

Our younger boys have a stocking from JoJo Maman Bebe and our older boys have plain red ones with a white cuff from Clinton's.

Matching and personalised.

Justapatchofgrass · 28/10/2019 19:03

All personal -made for each person when a child- mine is 52 years old.

My DH didn't have one as a child- used any pillowcase but my mother made him one about 25 years ago.

They are sacks not stockings.

Equimum · 28/10/2019 19:33

We bought a set of co-ordinating but different ones a few years ago.

Gustavo1 · 28/10/2019 19:41

I have matching and personalised ones for my boys, we are now expecting a surprise baby number 4 and cannot get a matching one!
I’d coordinate but not match if I were you!

ComeTheFuck0nBridget · 28/10/2019 20:12

Not matching at all here!

MamaRaisingBoys · 28/10/2019 20:37

I have matching personalised ones for my boys and I want to get 2 for me and dh this year.

Quick question for those of you with matching... do you have mum & dad or your names on the adult ones? I can’t decide!

Whitecandle · 29/10/2019 09:02

@MamaRaisingBoys I think if you're going for names go mum and dad but as I ended up getting initial ones go for your names.

Gutting for me that both me and my partner have the same initials so we don't know who's is who's... this really bothers me 😂

Cloudyyy · 29/10/2019 09:17

We have almost-matching (made as a coordinating set) and personalised stockings with “Mummy” and “Daddy” on ours instead of our names.

Namechangeoflife · 29/10/2019 19:25

If I was buying 5 in the one go I would probably just get matching.
I’ve built mine up over the years so have been individual purchases so all different

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 30/10/2019 08:21

Ours are different (I had a bunch of scrap fabric kicking about so ran them up on the sewing machine.) All broadly similar in shape/size equal in shape and design, but different patterns and colours.

CherryPavlova · 30/10/2019 08:23

I made ours and each is personalised and not matching. They’re for putting presents in, not for replacing the Farrow and Ball.

Justkeeprollingalong · 30/10/2019 08:39

Ours are hand knitted socks, same colours but different patterns. They have names - not mum and dad. I have a stock of the wool for new additions to the family.

BloodyWorried · 03/11/2019 22:22

B&M had five designs last year so we did a different design each (and bought two for each of the kids without the them knowing so we can just switch them out)

RoseMartha · 05/11/2019 13:34

Not matching and quirky
