Hi I'm really stuck with what to get ds1 and ds2 this year. The only thing they've asked for is branded sports clothing. Any ideas on both stocking and main presents please.

What do they really like OP?
Well that’s nearly as helpful as my post Confused

NeedingCoffee · 27/10/2019 06:47

Young driver lessons
Possibly a space rail type marble run
Air-pod lookalike (ie cheap!) ear buds
Possibly a Chromebook as needs it for school.

DonPablo · 27/10/2019 06:50

April, Dude, what's up with you?

Are they sporty? Into books? Into making things?

A whittling knife? Contact juggling balls? Are they shaving yet? Muji stationery always goes down well here, origami paper and a case to keep it in, headphones, power banks, smartphone gloves, lounge trousers, posh cookies in a tin, those dead Fred or whatever they're called desk accessories, sushi socks, chilly type bottles, a wallet, posh skincare (teen nip and fab is my fave).

Ds1 is autistic so he doesn't really socialise or have hobbies. He wants sports clothes as all the kids in his year have asked for them.

Ds2 likes Harry Potter and Lego. But is maybe getting a little old for all the Lego sets.

They have a playstation and both love reading. I'm even struggling with book ideas. They will be getting new phones but just a cheap upgrade as their phones are for emergencies.

I have four Ds's. The smaller ones are difficult enough to buy for but I struggle more and more each year with the older boys. Doesn't help that ds1 has his birthday Christmas Eve.

Great suggestions already. Thank you.

@ZoyaDestroyer Stranger things monopoly would be perfect for ds2 as he loves stranger things. Forgot about playstation vouchers that's a good idea too.

@NeedingCoffee young driver lessons is another thing I hadn't thought about I'll look into that. In fact will look into all your suggestions.

@DonPablo ds1 needs to start shaving. Again something I've had a mind blank about. Good idea.

Thanks so much. We recently had two house sales fall through and have decided to stay put. I've thought about nothing but houses for 9 months. So now I need to start shopping and I've asked the boys what they want but they just say "I don't know". Need to get into Christmas mode.

My son asks for Spotify subscriptions and iTunes gift cards. I've asked him to make an Amazon list including books, at least I can choose a few things off it. It's hard at this age.

Ohhgreat · 27/10/2019 07:19

Nintendo vouchers, phone power bank, novelty socks, probably a young driver off road driving experience, extended family will buy the xbox game he wants

wizzler · 27/10/2019 07:29

Presuming they are using a consol, I got Ds some little pad things for it ( search for gaming accessories on amazon)
How about tickets for an event like Insomnia.?
Cinema vouchers

namechangenumber2 · 27/10/2019 07:36

DS1 is a little older but when he was 13/14 we bought him - after shave, electric razor set, driving lessons ( young admiral are particularly good), fancy controller for the PS4 ( custom controllers ) , clothes , designer underwear.

I tend to go for themed stockings. Last year ( aged 15) I bought him bike bits - so some of that muc off range , gloves etc. The year before I did him a hot chocolate stocking - Whittards fancy hot choc powder, flavoured syrups, marshmallows and a new mug

Hoooo · 27/10/2019 07:37

I'm going to assume april is having a bad morning....
Op - second young driver lessons. Ds1 really enjoyed his.
His main gift this year are wireless over ear headphones.
Ds2 has switch games, some plushies, some smellies.
Ds1 sticking is always a nightmare tbh...he doesn't eat sweets or chocolate.
Sensitive skin so no smellies.
He's not remotely bothered by techy stuff
Argh...

Hoooo · 27/10/2019 07:39

Stocking even...Grin

NeedingCoffee · 27/10/2019 07:48

Also bamboo socks from Bam. Ds, who has always been over sensitive with clothes, seams etc, absolutely loves them and they have the advantage of not smelling anything like as much as normal socks. Sounds v mean to give socks as a present but Bam sent us one free pair and having raved about them DS looked them up and saw they weren’t cheap. So now fully appreciates getting them as a present and will have a 4 pack in his stocking.

crochetandshit · 27/10/2019 08:33

For my older boys stockings I do things like a gaming magazine, new bike lights, hand warmers, lynx or similar, chocolate, voucher for costa/game/iTunes and sweets or chocolate :)

Whitelisbon · 27/10/2019 08:49

My 13 year old son is getting
A fitbit, the new illustrated Harry potter (He's got the others), the Lego night bus, a switch game, a set of nice colouring pencils, Xbox voucher, Haribo, some silly socks (He's got r2d2, cactus, and McDonald's chips so far, I'll probably grab another couple of pairs), and I need to get him a couple of onesies from Primark.

jakesmommy · 27/10/2019 09:02

I have got my 12 year old:
Superdry backpack
Lego Architecture London Set
Lego Architecture New York Set
Red Dead Redemption 2 for Xbox One
Hitman 2 for Xbox One
Power bank
Xbox One Headphones
Canon Camera Set
Samsung Activity Tracker
Still need to buy him a laptop and wifi printer, xbox one controller and stocking fillers

BearSoFair · 27/10/2019 09:17

Rubiks Cube for stocking maybe. We got DS1 one when he was 12 or 13, I'm surprised how much it still gets picked up 5 years later! From there he's also had sudoku cubes, haptic cubes, pyramid puzzles...it kept us going on stocking gifts for years afterwards!

Charleymouse · 27/10/2019 10:49

Branded sports clothing all the way here as well.
Dropper post for his bike, cinema voucher and a magazine subscription are on the list. Stocking tends to consist of sweets and a few games/toy items like a puzzle and pack of cards.

I8toys · 27/10/2019 11:16

My son is 14 on Halloween and we got him the following
Clothes from the US from his favourite you tubers
Apple airpods
52 times Britain was a bell end book - he loves history
Couple of xbox, ps switch games
Jackbox party pack on steam. His friends come around and have a gaming seen
Communicado book.

No idea for Christmas tbh.

Oldraver · 27/10/2019 11:22

Someone mentioned it above but I have just seent he illustrated Harry Potter. Going to get some for DS tomorrow.

Headphones
Probably some Switch games

TCody · 27/10/2019 15:41

My eldest 2 DSS's (15 and 14) are getting;
Macbook
iPad and Apple Pencil
Lego Stranger Things
Lego Ideas Treehouse
Blanket
PS4 games
Switch game
Clothes and Trainers
Sketchbook and art pens
Tripod for camera
Apple TV
Canon Selphy printer
Hamilton tickets

Stocking will be;
Books (So far have the new illustrated Harry Potter, a couple of graphic novels that have been requested, a marvel quotes book and a few other books).
iTunes vouchers
Cinema vouchers
Lego figure blind bags
Pop Funko
Build a bear Deadpool
Jigsaw puzzle
Pyjamas
Book light
Lego blind bags
Small lego set
Vegan pick and mix (which are also gluten free)
Chocolate

We have just moved house so their room has been redone. They no longer share with DSS3 and there is a lot more space so I am thinking of possibly getting some art prints for the wall, I just need to decide what!

Will probably pick a few more bits up for the stockings and that is about it.

Previous hits include;
Beats
Air Pods
PS4
Apple Watch
Go Pro
Netflix subscription
Skateboard
