What's the BEST secret Santa gift you've had?

Following on from the other thread about the worst (and finding I've actually bought similar things for SS gifts...)
I have a couple of SS situations this year and clearly need to do better! Problem is, for one of them I just don't know the people well enough to make a very informed choice, so what sort of things are good gifts for most people??

Budget? Lottery scratch cards on a box of chocolates was what my old boss used to give and it was always popular

$60 AUS budget

• good quality beach towel
• portable Bluetooth stereo
• set of double walled coffee glasses

$30 Aus

• selection of gourmet teas
• 6 pack of boutique beer
• 30 x $1 lotto scratch cards.

$15 budget

• gourmet hot chocolate in a mug with a picture of a horse. Was my favourite mug for almost 10 years 😆

No idea how many Aussie dollars there are to a pound, I think the budget for both of mine will be £5-10. Mugs sound a good bet.

My brother in law bought me 5 vintage ladybird books which I was genuinely touched by, he had picked up on something I'd said months before and had bought them on eBay.

Someone at work once gave me a coffee press which I still use every day , 6 years later.

Other than that, most secret Santa gifts I've had are naff.

Someone in work bought me a china chicken egg holder (an old fashioned one from a charity shop). Random but I'd mentioned wanting one but couldn't find one.

My fave gift was a lego mug! It's massive, so I use it to hold pens.

Bamboo drinks cup for work. I use it every day.

Second best was some socks with whales on, referencing a very lewd conversation that had taken place on a night shift. Years later they remind me of that colleague and make me smile.
